Dieser Ausflug ist eine malerische 2 Geschichte 1 Schlafzimmer, 1 Bad Fluss vor Gast

Escalante Canyon, Wiesen, Felsen und Fluss und liegt in einem üppigen
Ufer Oase von 600 ft umgeben. Sandsteinfelsen. Das Gästehaus
abgewandt vom Haupthaus 600 ft. entfernt, um zu maximieren
Privatsphäre. Wandern Sie von der Haustür in der ersten Klasse Naturwunder.
Herrliche Aussicht aus dem Wohn- / Essbereich gesehen werden, und aus
die voll ausgestattete Küche, die aus Granit, Kirschholz hat
Schränke und Küchengeräten aus Edelstahl. Das Hauptschlafzimmer mit ein
Kingsize-Bett ist auf der 2. Etage. Das Schlafzimmer und das 6x12 Balkon haben
schöne Wiese und Red Rock Canyon Aussicht. Die Dusche ist ein ovaler
Glasmosaikfliese zu Fuß in, keine Türen benötigt werden, mit einem bunten, lokale
Fluss Kiesboden. Die Wände des Hauses sind mit der verputzten
schöne rote Schlucht Sand. Das Haus verfügt über ausgezeichnete WLAN und keinen Fernseher. EIN
hohe Bodenfreiheit Fahrzeug ist bevorzugt, dass die betoniert Niedrigwasser Fluss
Übergang (in der Regel 1 ft. tief).
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. We came to hike and relax in the Escalante Grand Staircase Monument and this cabin was a great start. Many of our hikes started right from the cabin, no need to even in get in our car. The cabin is located in a very scenic canyon and the porch is a great place to just sit outside and relax and admire the views. The cabin itself is very well done, a beautiful building inside and out. We will be back!
We've done a fair amount of traveling around the world and always prefer to rent homes over hotels. And, we have to say that this property is unbelievably special and everything about this house was perfect for our stay. The managers were always quick to respond with any questions we had. The kitchen was nicely equiped with higher end knives and pans than one normally finds in rentals. We love to cook, and this made everything great.
This part of the world is something everyone should see, and Escalante offers a level of solitude that's simply wonderful. The night sky is simply stunning, and the property is a destination in itself!
Our first visit to the guest house was outstanding! We enjoyed the dark skies and powerful quiet of the canyon. The Creamery Cellar trail was a highlight of our trip. It is recommended for its historic nature, but also for its vistas, heights, and colors. Thanks to the Howlands for sharing this lovely home.
We’re just back from a 10th visit to this area, our 5th at the same property, and our 1st at this home. We discovered this part of S. Utah on a meandering road trip from Tulsa to L.A. 9 years ago and were astounded by the grandeur, colors, and seemingly infinite expansiveness of the area. A year or so later, we discovered Doug & Bev’s other home on the same property (vrbo #228445) and were fortunate enough to stay there on 4 prior occasions. And though words seem insufficient in describing the beauty, solitude and absolute serenity of this place, it’s best for me to say “WE LOVE IT THERE.”
This year, after deciding to return to the area a few weeks ago, we were disappointed to find that ‘our’ place was booked on our requested dates. As an alternative, we were offered an ‘annex’ (a ‘Barnament’ as Bev & Doug call it) - built on the property since our last visit. We reserved it for 5 nights – and though apprehensive that any new structure on the same acreage would detract from the its appeal, we can now verify that the new home keeps entirely the silence, darkness, & sense of isolation that we associate with the original place. In other words, we LOVE it here ALSO and will be back as soon as possible.
For any needing orientation here, the 2 homes sit about ½ mile back from US 12 on a dirt road, on the banks of Calf Creek (a tributary to the Escalante River), at the base of red rock cliffs, roughly 50 m. from Bryce, 12 m. from Escalante (p. 780), and 16 m. from Boulder (p. 180). They give unequaled access to the spectacular 2m. acre Grand Staircase-Escalante Natl Mon. - a primitive area of canyons and unmatched scenery to the northeast of the property. The hamlet of Boulder has 2 incongruously exceptional small diners and Escalante has 2 good restaurants & an adequate grocery.
To complete this, Doug is a skilled architect whose skill, attention to simplicity & detail, and self-evident efforts to integrate the dwellings with the color, shapes, & scale of the surrounding landscape is altogether visible in the design & placement of both homes.
So before, we have purposely hesitated to recount our hyperbolic impressions of these homes even to best friends - but at risk of preempting our own next visit, I can’t recommend these homes or this region highly enough. It absolutely rejuvenates us each time we go.

Lovely private and secluded home in the Escalante canyon. Amazing location. Everything you could is possibly need in the house. Between Escalante and Boulder so lots of hiking possibilities.
We find that words aren't adequate to describe this beautiful home and the nature that surrounds it. Our stay this past fall was perfect in every way. The house's design and decor are impeccable and match the beauty of the Monument. We hiked every day, once or twice just walking from our front door to explore the river and the canyon both up and downstream. Sitting on the upstairs deck and watching the wild turkeys fly in to celebrate the sunset with us was a daily event, as were the evenings watching the stars come out. When we did venture out in the truck, there were many adventures within a reasonable distance, as well as a fine dinner at Hell's Backbone Grill! Thanks, Doug and Beverly, for sharing your beautiful home and making our time there perfect. We'll be back!
