Wir wachsen 100% Kona Kaffee auf unserem Bauernhof. Wir haben mehrere Obstgärten in Reihen an der Bergseite sowie mehrere Pflanzungen im Schatten der hohen Macadamia-Nuss-Bäumen organisiert. Unser Hof liegt mit fast 200 Macadamia-Nuss-Bäume, die uns eine reiche Ernte liefern ausgekleidet. Neben dem Kaffee und Nüssen, haben wir viele Sorten von Obstbäumen.

Wir haben Golden Globe Mangos, Hayden Mangos, Papayas, Ananas, Guave, Passionsfrucht, Litschi, Cherimoya, soursop, Kalk, Bitterorange, Granatapfel, Avocado, Bananen, Feigen, Kokosnüsse, monstera, Rose Äpfel, Pudding Äpfel und Noni. Wir wachsen auch Kakao und Kukuinuss. Unser Hof verfügt über einzigartige Lavagestein heraus Saatbestellungen sowie schöne Sorten von Palmen und Blumen.

Jeder Gast wird zu einer Besichtigung der Farm behandelt. Wir werden Ihnen zeigen, wie wir verarbeiten, den Kaffee und Pflege für die Bäume. Wenn Sie ankommen, werden Sie ein Bouquet von frisch gepflückten Blumen sowie eine Zusammenstellung der in der Saison Obst von unserem Hof.

Das Tree Top Apartment ist eine private Wohnung im zweiten Stock mit Blick aufs Meer und die Berge. Die Wohnung ist komplett getrennt und private von der Wohnung des Besitzers. Die Kathedrale Decken, Oberlicht, Glasfenster und Glasschiebetür zur Terrasse laden in der Sonne und im Freien in die Wohnung. Auf rund 750 Quadratmetern bietet Platz für die Wohnung vier Personen. Unser Hof liegt auf einem komfortablen 1.000 Fuß Höhe, so Klimaanlage ist nicht erforderlich. Wir sind mit warmen, sonnigen Tagen und Abenden ideal für Schlaf gesegnet.

Es gibt ein Schlafzimmer mit einem Doppelbett und ein zweites Schlafzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten. Die beiden Schlafzimmer und die Küche verfügen über Deckenventilatoren. Das Wohnzimmer hat einen Fernseher, DVD-Player, Videorecorder und CD-Player. Die Küche verfügt über alles, was Sie zur Zubereitung von Speisen, während Sie im Paradies finden. We loved Killino Farm

We just returned from a wonderful week at Killino Farm. The apartment was immaculately clean and was very well equipped. The farm is really quite lush with flowering trees and many types of fruit trees. Todd was always very hospitable and informative concerning local sites to see. The use of beach chairs and towels along with a great little cooler made all of our excursions that much better. A real bonus is the proximity of Killino Farm to Two Step beach. It is a fantastic snorkelling site only a ten minute drive away. Also, lots of great stores and restaurants in Captain Cook village which is another ten minute drive from Killino Farm.

Very private - the apartment is separate from the family home. Great lanai - we enjoyed spending our evenings there.

No mosquitoes or biting insects while we were there.

Highly recommended for two or four people.

Private Relaxing Coffee Farmstay

We loved this private apartment on this quiet and secluded coffee farm. We were greeted by Todd, the enthusiatic owner with a bowl of freshly picked fruit and a flower bouquet. And of course our apartment was supplied with farm produced coffee. We so enjoyed our farm tour, learning about growing coffee (much more information than I have ever learned on multiple previous coffee plantation tours). Additionally, there was cacao and macademia nut growth to view.

Our apartment was comfortable, the second floor location providing a great view of the ocean. The owner residence and the apartment are totally separated by, interestingly enough, a remnant lava flow wall, which in itself a fascinating geologic feature in this otherwise lush landscape. The covered deck lanai was the perfect place to drink morning coffee, or viewing the stunning sunsets, and enjoying dinner. The kitchen was well supplied and easy to use.

The recommended nearby bay has the best snorkeling, both with water clarity and coral and sea life, I have seen on multiple previous visits to the Big Island. Once we became familiar with the long driveway, it posed no impediment to our access to the apartment, and we freely came and went as needed. However, I recommend that guests avail themselves of the excellent directions provided directly by the owner and plan to initially arrive prior to darkness. I was unable to open the directions from the VRBO website, which is a problem the VRBO site should fix.

We totally loved our stay, and will plan a repeat stay, should our travel plans take us to the Kona Coast in the future.

Great experience, stay on real farm, so peaceful

We stayed for a week on Killino Farms and it could not have been a nicer experience. Todd and Kim are the nicest hosts. We had Kona coffee from their farm along with Hawaiian fruits from their farm and a beautiful bouquet of flowers awaiting our arrival. Todd provided excellent clear directions on to get to the property and was waiting in the driveway to direct us in and show us our bit of paradise for the week. It is a bit off the road and the driveway isn't a suburban driveway by any means - but that is the charm - you are not staying on the road - rather you will see the most beautiful sunsets over the ocean and be surrounded by paradise and birds chirping each morning. We had NO problem with driveway despite what other review stated. Todd also provided LOTS of information/advice on where to go/what to see and where to stay in Volcano. The property is very clean and well stocked, bed is quite comfortable. The best part of staying there was the lanai and daily visits from their dog Louie for belly rubs. We are dog lovers so we completely encouraged Louie to come and get belly rubs and he wasn't intrusive at all - but I am sure if you don't want him there (ie, don't give him any belly rubs) he will soon be on his way and not bother you.

I am a frequent VRBO renter and love living like a local, having more space than a hotel room and being able to cook and do my own laundry. So this place was excellent to prepare coffee/breakfast and have it on our private lanai, we prepared some dinners and sat again on the lanai and watched the sunset in the evening. We had television so we could keep up with the news (which we decided not to after a few days!), and do our laundry so I didn't have to pack a ridiculous amount for a two week trip. Todd and Kim had a cooler, beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel equipment and pretty much anything you could want/need for your stay on the Big Island. This was a very economical choice as well. Gave us much more space, privacy and flexibility than a hotel stay and was A LOT cheaper. The location was great. It was a very short drive to 2 step for excellent snorkeling. We drove to many of the beaches further north in Kona. There were lots of places to eat nearby - loved Annie's Burgers - which is just up the road. We cannot wait to return to Killino Farms - hopefully for an even longer stay!

Friendly owner, comfy, quiet green private space, great coffee, a glimpse of real BI life

Enjoyed our time here! Relaxed, private, quiet. Road is fine just drive slowly and follow clear detailed instructions, easiest to arrive in daylight. Driveway just off main road but enough to be very quiet. An engaging slice of real Big Island coffee farm life, very green (but season/rainfall dependent?). Todd and family are friendly and responsive, i.e. as needed but not obstrusive, offering an informal and interesting tour of the farm. Friendly dog popped upstairs every morning briefly (nice, but not bothersome at all-if you don't care for dogs). Apt was stocked with their own coffee which was great - enjoyed so much we bought more to take home! Simply furnished but perfectly comfortable, fans, tv, full size fridge and equipped kitchen! Grill available and great lanai to relax, dry swim clothes etc. 2nd bedroom door is on lanai but location very private, quiet and safe. Great homebase location for access to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau and nearby snorkeling, and Kealakekua Bay (kayak, snorkel, etc) both must dos! Nearby groceries and restaurants short drive away. For us, much better than generic hotels or condos with neighbours, parking and road noise.

We had to leave after 1 night

We were met by Todd who was very nice and accommodating! Our issue was his driveway, which he described as not the best. I had rented a midsize car, Hyundai Elantra which hit bottom on several times while driving down the driveway. I wish he would of indicted we would need a higher clearance vehicle. I'm used to driving in rough terrain, but could not afford to damage a vehicle, especially a rented one. We decided to find a different place to stay since we could not go in and out safely. The area is not lit at night. This would be ok to stay if you had a jeep. There was no lock on the front door, however, I think it would be hard for someone to find this place. Todd was nice but it was a terrible experience for us as we wanted a place to go in and out of, and were not able to do that here. Todd said the rental places did not check the bottoms of the cars. We were given no refund. I believe the situation could of been avoided if Todd would of said the vehicle would need a specific clearance! Besides losing the cost of the VRBO, I could of been paying damages for rental car, and miss even seeing this wonderful island!

I just found out that we were refunded some of our money, which I felt was very appropriate. We bid stay 1 night and were given a nice tour of the farm!

Vermieter-Kommentar: We were sorry to lose Pam and her Granddaughter as guests. Pam did not have to leave, Pam chose to leave after one night without giving us a chance to address her concerns or find alternative solutions. Upon arriving after a long flight many guests may be stressed. Then to arrive at the luggage carousel and not have your luggage show up, increases stress. After filling out paperwork for the luggage, then standing in the long holiday lines at the rental car agency, most people have had enough. This is what occurred to Pam. Pam arrived with a stressed look about her, but I did my best to smile and help her relax. She scheduled a tour of the farm the next morning. We provided the farm tour which she enjoyed and never mentioned that she wanted a key for the door. Nor was I told that her rental vehicle was preventing her from staying at my property and she needed to stay somewhere else. After our tour of the farm, she left our property in the early am, we received a text late in the afternoon stating she left, why and that she wanted a refund. As for the driveway issue, we are not able to recommend a car clearance height. We always tell guests that convertible Mustangs are best avoided, but we cant determine what height your car will clear. The weight of the people and the items in your car will alter the clearance.We described our farm and farm driveway in many emails to Pam. It was even reiterated in a pre-stay phone call.It is rocky with some potholes which are avoidable. You go slow and there is no problem. We have been running our rental for more than 12 years and have never had any guest who could not safely navigate our driveway. Please reference review Jan 15, 2012. Pam could have explored the option of getting a different vehicle from the rental car agency. Pam booked via VRBO on which our refund policy is clearly stated. Pam checked in Christmas week, stayed a night and then wanted a refund after leaving. We confirmed with VRBO that we are in no way required to refund ANY money, but we did. Making our guests happy and comfortable is very important to us. We would not open up our home to guests if we didn't care what they thought or didn't care about their stay. Pam did not give us the opportunity to alleviate her problem. It is important to know yourself and what will make your Hawaiian vacation meet your expectations. If a farm is is not for you, then select a suitable accommodation to your tastes and abilities. We have had our driveway paved.

A taste of life on a small farm in rural South Kona

The "tree house" apartment was an enjoyable place to base our Kona area adventures, away from the noise and crowds of the Kailua area. We enjoyed the spacious lanai, sounds of cocqui frogs at night and roosters in the morning. The kitchen was well-stocked, the bathroom and bedroom had all that we needed. The tour of the farm was cool and we enjoyed the fresh papaya and samples of Todd's own coffee beans. The interior was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the privacy of the upper apartment, although I did not realize that the lower half of the building was also a guest rental - the folks staying there were up slamming doors at dawn and in general we would have liked not to have other guests so close. The driveway is 1/4 mile long and very bumpy, not good to drive without 4WD. The neighbors dogs did bark very loudly if they heard a disturbance even at night which interrupted our rest on a couple of occasions. There is TV and WiFi, some DVDs, and books for evening entertainment. For those who want to be out in the country and closer to Kealekekua Bay and Place of Refuge but further from Kailua town, this a good spot. Just 3-4 miles from the Coffee Shack for a nice breakfast and stellar view.

Vermieter-Kommentar: We were very pleased to have Lindsay stay with us. We are troubled to hear in a post stay review of issues with your stay. If we would have been alerted of these concerns at the time of your stay, we would have done our best to address the items. Our downstairs apartment is not a rental. We only have friends and family stay which happens infrequently. We have gone years without a downstairs visitor. Our parents who we have not seen in nearly two years were staying there. Our two daughters who have not seen their grandparents in years slept over night. They need to get up for school which is most likely what was causing the morning activity between 6 and 7 am. We are a working Kona coffee farms surrounded by other working Kona coffee farms. It is important for guests to know what they want out of their Hawaiian vacation. A farm experience is not for everyone. There are animals and work noises. We love our farm and our home and work hard to share an authentic Hawaiian farm life experience with guests.
