The house was great, ideal location. Great views. Plenty of space for our group. Owner and after checkout made the experience miserable. If you don’t read “their book” they will money grab. We spent plenty time cleaning before our group left, we cleaned with two wash clothes which they ended up charging us for at the end saying “we ruined them” after all the cleaning we did they still charged us an extra 50 for cleaning. Crazy to think the fees attached aren’t enough for cleaning?!? Charged us 150 because we didn’t take trash to the road. This wasn’t communicated through text beforehand. Just a ridiculous money grab from the owner. Owners are old and use it as an excuse. 1 person out of our 13 person group saw “their book.” Goes to show they don’t communicate the important things that they will charge you in the end. Highly recommend not booking to not deal with owners of the property. We as a group have booked many places before and have never had an issue. Owner needs to be a better communicator before guests check in and what they want from their guest, instead of saying “read book.” They truly need to give the property to someone who can communicate because it is a beautiful spot.

Family Vacation

The property is huge. Our family of 13 especially enjoyed eating together at the enormous dining room table. The kitchen was large and well supplied with everything needed to prepare large meals. Everyone loved the large sandy beach.

Well thought out for a group of families to all stay in one place. Lots of room to spread out, multiple places to hide from the weather, or enjoy the weather. It was ideal for our group, and I would rent here again!

We have a sibling and family vacation every year and have been trying to find “our place” in Michigan. This home had literally everything we could ever want. It was beautiful, had fishing, clean swimming water, walking, close to everything. I would definitely recommend!

Wonderful stay

Our stay was great. My son was getting married and the house was perfect for the families of the bride and groom. The owner was really great and very accommodating to our needs. The only negative was the lower level mustiness and carpeting. And it’s on spider lake so there are lots of spiders lol.

Truly could not have asked for a better place!

Our stay was INCREDIBLE!!! Plenty of room for 11 guests. Truly I don’t think the pictures do this place justice. The house is absolutely gorgeous - perfect if you’re looking for an upscale log cabin vibe. The lake is so picturesque, and the drive into Traverse City was so easy. The kitchen was great for cooking several meals during our stay. I can’t say enough good things about our stay. I would stay here again in a HEARTBEAT!!! Thank you for providing the perfect location for an unforgettable weekend!

Beautiful and unique home

As soon as we walked in the front door, we fell in love with the house. Beautiful views are everywhere from within. House is well stocked in the kitchen, with games, books, kayaks and a paddle boat. Great memories were made!

We came N instead of S for our annual vacation this year. What a treat! Enough room for 11 adults and 2 teens and a baby. Easy access to boat dock and boat rental with tube. So roomy and great decks. Stocked well. Beautiful surroundings. I suggest a handicapped potty!!

Anniversary trip

Our family of 10 ages 24-82 thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Spider Lake while celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary. This is an older home with some recent updates that easily accommodated our family. It has a wonderful modern kitchen/dining/living area that overlooks the beautiful Spider Lake. Paddle boat, kayaks and fishing pier were a welcome addition for the younger ones. The fire pit was also enjoyed in the evenings! Beautiful area and great property for large groups.

Love this lake house

This is our second time staying here and we love everything about it. The view is spectacular and it’s very roomy for our entire family of 12. We found the house extremely clean and organized with everything we need. Quiet hours make it very relaxing in the morning and evening. Also love taking out boat to the sand bar! Great fun!!!

Perfect Extended Family Resort

Great family place. Lots to do. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks, the paddle boat, the blue water mat, ping pong and foos ball. The adults loved the deck and were able to watch kids in water from there. Nice grill is a major plus for us. Couldn’t figure out lights on the driveway and a bit of a musty smell on lower level bedroom . Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Spider lake home

We loved staying at this home. The owner thought of everything. The home is big with an amazing view of Spider lake. We were there for a wedding. We had 8 people and plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. The setting is in the woods and very private and peaceful. Beautiful colors on all the trees and lovely to enjoy sitting outside on the deck in the evening chatting with family. Owner provided so much information on things to do and there are tons of board games as well as Ping pong and Foosball. We couldn't have been more happy! Definitely will come back!

Spider lake house

Our family of 12 really enjoyed this home on spider lake. We loved tubing and skiing on this quiet family friendly lake. The property mgr. was extremely responsive to all of our needs and concerns. The house was very spacious for all 12 of us with a beautiful updated kitchen.Many water toys were available and used daily. The swimming dock and water mat were a huge hit. Since our weather was so warm the air conditioning could not keep up but at least 2 bedrooms had room air conditioners. We hope to be back soon!!!!

Great spot for a large family!

Our family of 14 had a great week on Spider Lake. The house is beautiful and has two large living areas on the first floor as well as a basement/yard-level room where the kids spent lots of time playing ping pong and foosball. It was enough room for people to be together or separate as much as they wanted. The lake was beautiful and warm, with a fun float and mat, as well as two kayaks (one adult and one child) and a rowboat. Spider allows all motorized water craft, but our area of the lake was never too busy or loud. The proximity to Traverse City, as well as to a nature center, the Boardman River, Ranch Rudolf for tubing, and an athletic field was also a huge plus. The only down sides were that the house only has AC in some of the common areas, and it wasn't able to work at full strength. Fortunately it wasn't too hot for most of the week, but if it had been that would have been problematic. The basement area (where many of the beds are) was also quite humid and smelled of mildew. There was a dehumidifier in the laundry room that helped somewhat, but I think that putting 2-3 portable dehumidifiers throughout the rest of the area would have made a huge improvement. Overall it's a beautiful house and we had a great time!
