Dear reader, dear Sophie: we are so thankful for the wonderful memories we took home from our stay in your house. This was the best part of our holidays in Mauritius. We wanted to try the two sides of making holidays in Mauritius. After our stay in Casa del Montoc, we moved to a luxurious hotel and we were not happier. We spent a very relaxed time in this house, no pressures, lots of privacy and the lovely help in matter of cleaning and cooking from Sylvie. Our taxi pick up from the airport was arranged by Sophie and we didn't have to worry about anything. The fridge at the evening of our arrival had all we needed for a light dinner at home. Sophie, the owner, is a very friendly and helpful woman. She showed us an impeccable and lovely decorated house. It's the kind of house of an artist. The property is 1 minute away from the beach, which is almost for the exclusive use of the people who are staying at this area. One must be aware of sea urchins by just avoiding the area which also Sophie recommended us to look for, then it's not a problem. Casa del Montoc counts with bed linens, towels, beach towels, kitchen utensils, and even sun hats and shoes for the beach! There is a bus stop just around the corner and the nearest village is Trou d'eau Douce where one can buy groceries or go dine to the so many small restaurants. On the other hand, Sylvie was of big help with her cooking because she bought fresh "caught of the day" fish! No luxury hotel can beat this ;-). Make a walk on the beach in direction north (about 5-10 minutes), where you will find a fantastic point for going snorkeling with a big coral reef, lots of colorful fishes and beautiful white sand at the beach. Otherwise, one can rent a car (Sophie can also arrange this) and go explore the island. May was a very good month to visit. Not so hot, some rain showers in the evening but very bearable and refreshing. Mosquitoes were not a problem, even though we slept every night with opened windows. Whenever we plan another holiday in Mauritius, we will for sure come again to this house. Thanks Sophie and Sylvie, we wish you all the best and hope to visit again soon!
Greetings from Germany. Mariana, Frank & little Sophie ;-).
