This apartment really is just yards from the water. The view from the spacious balcony is wonderful - beautiful blue sea, boats and the mountains from the mainland. The sun sets in front of you in the evening. When we were in, the four of us spent most of our time on the balcony, transfixed by the view.
The apartment has everything you need. It is clean, tidy and tasteful. You can sleep six as the double sofa bed in the sitting room is comfortable. The air con was good - we were OK even when the temperatures were in the high 30s. There is a bakery, a small daily food market, a supermarket and post office just round the corner. You can buy fish from the harbour front.
Postira is vibrant but not too touristy. Most of the tourists aren't English. There are lots of cafes and restaurants and when we were there mid-season there was a lively waterfront programme (water polo tournament, theatre, music). There are at least three different places to swim in town alone. One is right next to a great cafe where we spent hours, dipping in and out of the water in between courses. You can also hire motor boats, kayaks, bicycles and cars in town.
Jakov, who owns the apartment, was charming and so helpful by email. He even picked us up at Split airport and transported us to the ferry terminal. His potted history of Croatia en route was fabulous.
This apartment was a real find. I was delighted when we arrived. We will definitely be returning!
