Lake Sutherland Cottage

Dieses gemütliche, fantastische Strandhotel am Südufer bietet den ganzen Tag über maximale Morgensonne und wundervolles Licht. Das Haupthaus verfügt über 2 Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss (1 King und 1 Queen) und ein Loft mit einem Queensize-Bett und Sitzecke. 1 komplettes Badezimmer und eine voll ausgestattete Küche. Es gibt eine Terrasse mit einem Propan Grill und Sitzgelegenheiten. Das Haus ist gemütlich, wenn Sie 8 Personen buchen. Wir machen es die ganze Zeit, aber denken Sie daran. Das Dock (4 ft. Ish) ist flach und hat einen kleinen Strand.

**** Für Gäste über 6 Personen gibt es eine separate kleine Gäste-Suite mit 1 (Queen) Schlafzimmer und 1/2 Bad inklusive. ****
 
Dieses gut ausgestattete Haus am See verfügt über eine Terrasse zum Grillen, eine private Anlegestelle und einen großartigen Platz zum Schwimmen. In der Nähe des Olympic National Park zum Wandern und Erkunden.

Das nächste große Lebensmittelgeschäft ist in Port Angeles oder es gibt einen schönen, frischen Markt westlich von Sequim namens "Sunny Farms", in dem wir einkaufen gehen. Es gibt größere Lebensmittelgeschäfte in Port Angeles und einen Costco in Sequim.
Es gibt kein WiFi in der Hütte, aber unsere Verizon bekommt tolle Handyempfang. Wir ziehen es vor, "unplugged" zu sein, während wir mit unserer Familie am See sind. (Wenn WiFi wichtig ist, ist dies möglicherweise nicht der richtige Ort für Sie)

Wir haben Nachbarn auf jeder Seite, wenn Sie mehr Privatsphäre benötigen, ist dies nicht Ihr Platz. Obwohl wir familienfreundlich sind, haben wir keine Kindersicherheitsartikel.

Lakeside fun

Great place on a lake. Loved the access to kayaks, SUP, and hikes. It was our friends’ first visit to the Olympic Peninsula and this was a perfect introduction to its beauty.

Wonderful home on the lake. Clean! Comfy and clean beds with good linen! Owners were responsive, timely with the deposit refund, gave extra advice on things to do in the area and all in all a great place to stay! Ping pong and paddle boat were nice additions.

Peaceful and relaxing

Unyieldingly beautiful views from the dock, the deck, and the living room. Peaceful. Daily visits from bald eagles, American Coots, Common Mergansers, Mallards, and many more. Kelly made the experience easy, restful, and enjoyable!

Lakefront gem

We stayed at this property for couple of nights during Spring break. It was amazing waking up to the beautiful lake views, just can't beat the view. The property is exactly as described, extremely clean and very well stocked. The weather was little cold to stay outside for long but we will be coming back in summer to enjoy more! Kelly was super prompt and helpful. Can't recommend this property enough!

Spring Break getaway at the lake

We stayed on Spring Break for 3 nights and fit in plenty of activities - hikes to Olympic Hot Springs, Hurricane Ridge, Cape Flattery. The charming cabin is perfect location to enjoy the Olympic National Park, and the perfect size for family of 5. Beautiful views of the lake from the minute you wake up got the city kids excited and out on the water every opportunity they had. The house is tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a quality family vacay - kitchen, spices, sandwich bags, clean towel, ping pong tables, hiking guide books, board games, paddle boats, BBQ grill. Kelly was a wonderful hostess and super helpful. We'd love to come back again in the summer time. Thanks!!

Great lake house despite that Pacific Northwest weather

We rented the Gouge lake house for Memorial Day weekend with some friends and had a great time. The lake is pretty mellow unless the guy who owns six jet skis is there, which he probably will be. I imagine jet skiing on Lake Sutherland and harassing girls on the lake is everything this guy's life consists of. BUT while he's not on the lake, the canoes/paddle boards/kayak/paddle boat are an excellent activity. Or the croquet set...both good things. So, a huge selling point of this house is the dock. Everything in the house is pretty clean and organized. There is a queen air mattress in the loft that I don't think is mentioned in the posting. So keep that in mind. One thing to know before you go is to not count on the grill for any cooking. It looks like it was used on the set of 8 Mile - only two of the four burners work and the the actual grill (the thing you put the meat or vegetables on) looks like it has been used for the past 6 years without cleaning or replacement. In terms of location, this cabin is pretty prime. Right on a mellow lake, a perfect spot to be if you're trying to explore the Olympic National Park and deep enough that you feel a little isolated. Overall...great lake house and a great weekend.

Sorry about the jet ski guy harassing you and your party (I will try to find out who that was, we have never had that problem before.) Lake Sutherland is a busy lake for sure especially in the summer months! Sorry you got the last weekend of the old grill, we actually replaced it right after your stay.

This is an excellent property with great owners. They tend to improve something on the property every year making it nicer each time. Morning coffee on the dock is my favorite!

Safe place for kids to swim

My daughter & I took the grandkids overnight to swim & play. We had a great time, the cabin was clean & comfortable. The host was amazing and even dropped off kids swimsuits that we forgot.

Cozy & cute Olympic Park lakehouse

We rented this property as a base for Olympic Park excursions - we saw Hurricane Ridge, Sol Duc falls and Second Beach at La Push. Marymere Falls is very close and was on the list of sights but no one wanted to leave the lake house! Our group was a family of five with three boys, ages 13, 10, and 6 plus my brother and his wife. We were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked so we could cook our own meals. The house was clean and check in and communication with the host went smoothly. We loved the ping pong table, all the paddle boards, kayak, yard games, etc. The dock is a great place for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. I highly recommend the lake house and would definitely return to explore more of the northern Olympic Peninsula!

Our first time visiting Lake Sutherland and this house. Very comfortable with all amenities one could think of for a fun, relaxing vacation. Location on the lake is fantastic. Gets first rays of morning sunlight and nice place to play in the water, launch boat from.

Little gem by the Lake

We checked in right on time. A beautiful private deck is welcoming us. Kitchen equipped with all sorts of pots, pans, dinnerwares, enough beach towels for 7 of us. We even watched a movie on VHS tape from video cabinet which it was new experience for our teens. Enjoyed the paddle boat, kayak, SUP on the lake.

Such a relaxing place....

We enjoyed our week of relaxation at this gem of a property. The inside of the house is well equipped from the bedrooms to the kitchen. The outside was wonderful too! We enjoyed many meals at the outdoor table on the deck, hanging in the Adirondack chairs on the dock, playing with lots of the outdoor toys (water and lawn), and launching our boat from the large dock. The water is very clear and clean and we found the boat traffic to be minimal during the week. The views from the house and deck are fabulous too!

A wonderful retreat!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage on Lake Sutherland. The kids loved using the paddle boat and were out on the lake everyday having the best time. It was so relaxing to sit at the end of the dock to take in the beauty of the lake and the mountains. The house was clean and had everything we needed, it is definitely a place we would love to visit again!

Great vacation home!

We know the view would be great and the lake would be beautiful before we arrived. But were very impressed with how well the house was prepared with everything you would need at a lake house. There were little boats, kayaks, paddles boards, games, places to chill and relax, satellite TV. The fridge, stove, and grill we're all very clean and ready to use. Beds were comfy with lots of pillow selections. Bathrooms were sparkling clean as well. Thank you Kelly for being a great host!

Perfect!

This beautiful lake house was perfect. Our large group of eight people were very comfortable and the house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The owner was very hospitable and responsive. There are so many amazing things to do in the area, but we would have been happy to spend all of our time at the house, just relaxing by the lake or getting out on one of their many watercraft options (paddleboards, kayak, canoe, row boat, paddle boat, etc.). Great house in beautiful location

The house was ideally located to serve as a base for exploring Olympic National Park and other sights of the Olympic Peninsula. It was a great place to return to at the end of the day and relax at the lake. We enjoyed the paddleboards, kayak, and paddleboats. The house was very clean and well-furnished. We loved having our breakfast on the dock in the morning.

Everything we needed for a weekend at the lake!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gouge's Lake House. The house was cozy and comfortable for our group of 7 adults. The natural light the big windows and skylights let in was so cheery. We loved the views of the lake from the living room, kitchen and upstairs loft. The Gouge's have created seating areas on the deck and the private dock to take advantage of the beautiful lake views. It was so nice to just sit at the end of the dock with a cup of coffee or hot tea and take in the scenery. We had some fun ping-pong matches in the garage. If we wanted to go out on the water, we had our choice of canoe, kayak, row boat, stand up paddle boards or paddle boat! There were board games in a "Harry Potter" closet under the stairs too. There was even a high chair in the garage if needed. The kitchen was also well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses etc. We had other members of the family staying at Mallard Cove just down the road. Our family had a great time paddling and boating the short distance across the lake to each others lodging. A super great time. Thank you Gouge Family for sharing your wonderful lake house with ours!
