Hi Bill. Thanks for the review and response. Most, if not all waterfront Maine cottages get their water from the lake or a well that also gets the water from the same body of water. Thompson Lake is one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in the State and is fed by the Poland Spring aquifer- the same source as Poland Spring bottled water. Some people prefer bottled water however the water from the house is commonly used for everyday activities and is filtered in the basement before entering the taps in the house. Appreciate your feedback and will add this to the house details for future guests if these details are not already listed. Jeff

Thanks for the review, Ann. Glad you had a great time - well, except for the fishing which is usually pretty good! Happy to see you appreciate the lake and the views - the water is great and as you know, the views are even better especially at sunset. In an ideal world I would love to have a second bathroom but most summer cottages only come with one. I added the outdoor shower a couple years ago which helps with showering and is very refreshing. Enjoy the rest of the summer and come back to Thompson Lake again next year. Best, Jeff

Agree the beds are comfortable - they are higher end Casper beds new only a few years ago - makes a difference in a stay for sure! While I strive for 5 stars for all my guests, the one thing out of my control is the WIFI. Even if I did have it, all my neighbors tell me its not very good and expensive as well which is why I post this in the listing so there are no surprises when guests arrive. I do mention using the hot spot is the best option, though not ideal, I understand. Glad you otherwise had a great stay. Cheers, Jeff
