We were in town for the opening weekend of the Balloon Fiesta. This is a nice, clean apartment in a quiet neighborhood. We were there for three nights and only talked to the owners once. Nice people. Even if we weren't at Balloon Fiesta Park we could see balloons filling the sky in the morning and in the evening we could also watch the fireworks show from the yard. We would recommend this property to anyone whether you are staying a short time or long term. The laundry facilities came in handy.
Nice little casita behind the main house has ample parking and well stocked home. Awesome neighborhood with gated security entry opened by the remote provided. Casita sits way in the back behind garages for added privacy. Never bothered by front tenants. Kitchen stocked with plenty of dishes, it's, pans, utincils, spices. Full sized fridge and stove were immaculate. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer complete with detergent and bleach. The oversized king bed was super comfy. Lots of soft spare blankets. Internet and cable tv was provided. And, it was super nice to have a desk to work at as I was meeting with various home care providers for my friend who was in the hospital recovering from a bad stroke. I was very happy with this home away.
Unfortunately we thought that this was going to be the perfect little place to stay while I took some professional development courses in town. If you're just staying a night or two, it's probably just fine. But we stayed for 2 1/2 months and found that when we arrived, things were in disrepair and the owner had no idea. The gate was taken all apart and broken. We began finding dead and dying cockroaches, so we had to ask to have it sprayed for roaches, ugh... and the owner actually told us that her friend had come over and informed her the strip that keeps bugs out fell off the door, but if we wanted to get our own we could get one and replace it at our own cost. The gate was never repaired in the whole ten weeks. The entire time we were there, the AC leaked nonstop, so there was a constant stream of water running down the wall and onto the floor in some places and dripping in others. We had to keep pans and towels on the floor all the time, and still kept getting wet socks, ringing out towels.. rather miserable. the oven handle broke right off in my hand the first time I tried to use it, causing the whole front of the oven to fall off and glass to shatter everywhere. She did get another used oven brought in, but after she accused me of destroying stuff, and said I was complaining too much. she wasn't able to get much of anything repaired for us.you could see that the oven had been repaired and had multiple different kinds and lengths of screws holding it together, and someone has attempted to fix it. Yet when I told The owner she said nobody else complained and even threteaned to kick us out, after we had paid for the whole summer upfront. I could go on.. basically this owner is out of state, without good knowledge of her property and it's being run down by poor maintenence. Even the lawn care is an issue. Some guy started showing up and set up sprinklers that flooded her dirt driveway 2-3 times a day, so that our truck was getting stuck and I had to Navigate giant mud holes everyday in nice shoes. There were many problems, which we just dealt with since it was temporary and I was too busy in classes to deal with finding a new place etc.. unless you really just want a quick cheap place to lay your head for a night, don't bother staying here...get a real hotel. This place isnt worth the money.
We stayed in the casita for almost two months. We were having a house built. It is in a quiet, safe neighborhood.
This casita is a simple and functional home that met all of our needs. We were basically just seeking a space to sleep that was close to my in-laws home. This home is nothing fancy, but that wasn't what we were looking for. The space is clean and comfortable. There is a nice little kitchenette/dining space for breakfasts. The owner was very responsive when we had questions. The location was very convenient for getting right onto I-25 and was basically a straight shot into town - probably took about 15/20 minutes to get from the casita to the heart of downtown ABQ. I would absolutely recommend this space to friends.
The property was exactly as depicted in the photos; it was well located for the balloon fiesta, whether we drove to the park or just watched down the road by the ditch! Lilliana was most responsive when we had several questions regarding our stay. The apartment is neat and clean and has everything you would need for 2-4 people. My daughter and her husband slept on the futon for several nights and said it was the most comfortable "not bed" they've ever slept in! We hope to return again some day to Albuquerque and would certainly consider staying her again.
Wir sind sehr nah an den Fluss, der Rio Grande Trail, Balloon Fiesta, Gravity Park, Corrales und Rio Rancho. Auch an den Cottonwood Mall.
