Weekend birthday trip!

The cozy cottage was great! The location is perfect and it has all the amenities you need. Julie the host is friendly and wonderful. The property is tucked in behind their main residence, in a safe and lovely neighborhood where you can walk to many shops, restaurants and bars. The beach is just a few minutes away as well! As others have mentioned, the outside seating area is great! We sat outside with a cocktail and a fire on a cold night for a nightcap. This residence is small, so I think it is perfect for couples or a couple with one small child. It can accommodate 2 kids though! You can’t go wrong with the Cozy Cottage!

Perfect spot in the Village

We really enjoyed our time at the Cottage! The location was tremendous and our family enjoyed walking to the beach and all the great spots to eat. The outdoor space was a great amenity. Hosts were great people and easy to work with. We hope to visit the Cottage again on our next trip to Carlsbad.

Cozy Cottage in Great Location

This property is small but fully equipped. We had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend escaping from reality. The outdoor space is wonderful. Always some shade and plenty of comfortable furniture to relax on. Easy walking distance to the beach and Carlsbad Village.

Great cozy place to stay

Julie was great to communicate with and checking in and out was super easy. The house was clean and well stocked. Lots of beach towels, toys and even a wagon to take to the beach which was so helpful. Nice large patio to enjoy as well.

Our Favorite Spot

This is our 3rd time staying here and it’s our family’s favorite spot each summer. Location is great and so very convenient for everything. Host makes the stay so easy and has all the beach supplies there which makes our car ride easier to not have to bring all of the extras! Always so nice and easy to work with. We will be back again.

My family and I (includes twin toddlers) had a fabulous time here! The owners were so friendly and proactive about ensuring we enjoyed our stay. Great location and outdoor space, small for a family

Location is great- close to beach and restaurants. Outdoor space is awesome! Had beach toys and chairs, beach towels. I would recommend this property for 2 people. We stayed with our two kids and it was pretty tight. The bunk area is separated from the kitchen by just a curtain so keeping the noise down for nap time was a challenge. The main bedroom has a door but also an open pass through window to the kitchen (with curtain) so again you can hear everything. We brought two rather large suitcases and neither would fit lying down in the bedroom- had to keep them in the living room. I would definitely stay here again if It were just my husband and I.

Father + Son Surf Legoland Spring Break

The Cozy Cottage was so cool. Right in the center of the Carlsbad beach and village with huge hotels and resorts all around, you can still get an old school beach experience in Carlsbad here. My son and I loved the outdoor area for chilling in the sun, cornhole, morning coffee. Plenty of area for shade or sunbathing. The shack itself was as its name suggests, COZY. I had the queen room and my son (11) had the back bunk. Well designed bar/kitchen area for inside. Also we did movie nights on the couch and the TV had a surprisingly nice sound system. The real draw is the location! We easily loaded up each day and walked to the beach. A few times we would forget something on the beach and I just ran back to the cottage. Or you are right next to restaurants, 7-11, etc for quick bites or drinks. We discovered Carlsbad Village and walked to our favorite shaved ice shack along with my favorite cafe or burrito spots. We walked to surf lessons down the beach at Lifeguard stand 30 (we were at 37-38). Easy uber to Legoland one day as well. We loved the cottage and the beach so much we only went to Legoland one day......Win win for family bonding. My son and I now have an easy beach vacation spot to go back to....Oh yeah, Julie and her husband were awesome and they just want to see the beach shack get love, and we gave it and got it back from them. Very attentive if we needed anything, which wasn't much since the shack has everything you need. Lots of care and charm for a beach shack. We will be back...

Wonderful Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. Can’t wait to return! The owner was great to work with, very friendly and quick to respond. There is everything you need for the beach from towels to beach toys! Being able to do laundry while there was a blessing and an unexpected perk that was included. The fire pit and outside area was fantastic. We sat outside every morning and night and enjoyed the views. The walk to the beach was 5 minutes and so easy. The village is so close with great restaurants and shops. Carlsbad beaches are incredible. Our first night we saw whales breaching and most nights we saw dolphins swimming, especially at dusk. The beaches are never crowded. The week we were there was perfect. Can’t wait to go back and stay here again.

Perfect for a family of four!

We had a wonderful experience at this home. It was perfect for our family of four, which included two small children. The owner’s communication and attention to detail made for a smooth stay. From providing necessities such as toiletries and laundry detergent to providing conveniences such as sand toys, an umbrella, and chairs for the beach we felt taken care of. The outdoor space is very nice as well! We will definitely be back!

Cozy cozy cozy!

My best friend and I spent 4 nights here to celebrate birthdays! Once we parked her car in the parking space that Julie and Ion so graciously saved for us , we hardly had to move it, we went into downtown San Diego one time, other than that, we walked everywhere we wanted to go, shopping, restaurants and the beach were so close there was no need to get back into the vehicle! A block and a half to the beach perfect stroll and of course Carlsbad has beautiful beaches! great restaurants, great shopping I just can’t say more about the location! The cottage was well equipped and outdoor Space us just lovely!!I would come here again and again I’ve recommended it to friends already!

Cozy cottage with a great outdoor space and location!

This rental has an awesome outdoor area with a table to eat, fire pit, shower and more! The inside has what you need for sleeping, getting ready and cooking. It is a smaller space inside, but with the great weather in Carlsbad you would rather have a larger outside space to enjoy! They had beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and toys to use, all nicely stored in the laundry area. You cannot beat the location, it is only a few minute walk to the beach where there is a ramp access point and then a few minute walk to downtown. There were some great eating areas just a few blocks away! The owners were very friendly, checking in by text to make sure we didn't need anything and were enjoying our stay. They also made sure I had the information needed for the gates on check in day and put out cones to reserve the street parking spot right in front of the house. Check out was simple and easy, with just putting linens in the laundry room and starting the dishwasher. Overall it was a great place for our stay, I would reserve this rental again and recommend it to family and friends!

Incredible Location and Outstanding Accommodations!

My husband and I cannot rave enough about Julie and her husband and their Cozy Cottage. We had the best staycation with our one year old. They were flexible with our check in and out times and the communication was spot on. They even went as far as saving us a parking spot right in front of the private gated area! One of our favorite things about the Cozy Cottage is that it sits back just far enough for it to be super quiet and very private. The outside patio area was perfect for our one year old to get her wiggles out and eat our meals! It was also a lovely place for us to enjoy “date nights” around the fire when our baby went to bed for the night. We brought a laptop and watched a movie around the fire pit while enjoying beer from a local brewery! There is an outside shower which was nice for the fun, sandy beach days. There is a laundry hut with lots of chairs and towels as well. Regarding the location, it really can’t get any better than this. It was about a five minute walk to the beach and about 5-10 minute walk to Carlsbad Village where you’ll find coffee shops, restaurants and shops. Honestly the only time we used our car is when we needed to run to Target for diapers. Cozy Cottage really is the perfect location! Overall, we had such a lovely time and cannot wait to book our next stay here! Thank you to Julie and her husband for their hospitality!

DELIGHTFUL!

What a charming spot! The location cannot be beat- close to the beach and to Carlsbad Village. The unit itself was super clean and chock for of amenities, including fun stuff like beach chairs and boogie boards. Privacy was excellent: tucked behind the owners' home with its own entrance, this unit makes it feel like you have your own little beach home, complete with a lovely, spacious outdoor patio and an outdoor shower. Owners are super responsive and check in and out are hassle-free. Highly recommend this cozy cottage to anyone looking for a beach get-away in Carlsbad.

A wonderful getaway

This has become an annual favorite vacation spot for our family. A short walking distance from the beach and shopping/dining prevents the hassle of driving and finding parking. We love the convenience of the outdoor shower and laundry room, a total life saver for cleaning kids off after the beach! The owners are friendly and responsive, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our experience everytime!
