Oh dear I am so sorry to have a disappointed guest. I have all five-star reviews (37 so far) on this site and through the other venues we use, so I had no idea that my place could be a miss. Compared with what is available at this location at hotels or at other homes, we offer a fantastic deal. I encourage all guests to please shop around before booking. Of course, I take reviews very seriously, so I called vrbo support and was assured that the pictures and the description are accurate. For example, the vrbo representative said that "studio” would indicate there is no door to the bedroom. Nonetheless, I don’t want disappointed guests so I have edited the description to spell out that there are black-out curtains. The pictures do show all the furnishings which (in my opinion) create a comfortable, quirky and fun style, but of course style is subjective. The patio chairs were quite a find and I drove very far to get them as they are distinctive and actually quite valuable. The patio is Pennsylvania bluestone. The posted garden pictures all show what is on the guest side of the fence. If the shrubs and vines are not in bloom yet, I put out potted flowers. The fence separates my main yard from the guest private patio area, and anything beyond the fence, including my garden and the neighbor’s yards and trees, is meant to be part of the surrounding scenery. We thoroughly clean of every inch of the studio, but of course I take the criticism to heart. So, I have replaced the sofa cover because it had some smudges from where I had used the wrong cleaning supplies on it. I have also repainted the aluminum in the shower because it had pitted and perhaps the guest thought that it was dirty. I certainly want to hear from guests immediately if they have any concerns about cleanliness, or anything else related to their stay. The floors do make noises but we do our best to tiptoe at night and if anyone requests quiet during the day, we are happy to accommodate. I have stayed at many hotels where you hear conversations from the hall at all times of day and night, and certainly we don't have that here. I do hope that everyone shops around before staying here so that they will appreciate exactly what we have to offer. My main focus as a host is on having happy guests and providing a personal, friendly, safe, convenient and beautiful place to stay in downtown Bethesda.
