As VRBO Premier Hosts, we consistently provide great experiences for our guests. We are known for taking pride in our property and responding to our guest’s needs. When you arrive, you can be assured that the house is in sound order and impeccably clean. Nonetheless, we feel compelled to respond to this review with the intent of clarifying the facts. During this guest’s stay, the housekeepers said that they cleaned up after a party and noted additional sleeping quarters for overflow guests. It was these activities that caused the need for ‘a deep cleaning’. The beds are neatly prepared, and carpets cleaned prior to arrival; a few weeks later, the carpets required a 2nd cleaning. Clearly, dirt was tracked in on bare feet, including stains at the foot of the beds, indicating that there was no cleansing of feet before bed. The new sheets were found unused and still in their original packaging. The towels she described were likely used to protect the carpet from bare feet and not vice versa, as alleged. No cats have been observed on the property, let alone, taking a ‘cat nap’ on a moving swing around strangers. Upon arrival, the guest shared that they brought their grill and never mentioned any concern about our 9-month-old grill. Also, the stove and oven are in perfect working order. For the rare warmer weather events, we provide air conditioning units. They elected two units and stated that they did not need the remaining two. Later they said they didn’t really need any of these. Cramming unauthorized guests into a house and the added disruption from a medical emergency and hospitalization certainly may have impacted their stay. Even her husband noted his wife as ‘over-reacting’. However, this does not justify the comments in the review. Following their departure, we had the property thoroughly cleaned, and items either repaired or replaced to return it to its pre-rental condition. We have our interior designer evaluate the property on an annual basis. Her professional judgment is used to adjust the amenities and décor. These details are then documented to the website, including photographs, to accurately reflect the status of the property. The property is priced fairly; we are available and strive to respond to all questions and requests. We would love for you to stay at our beach house.
