This was a beautiful log home with breathtaking views!There were a few shortcomings. It was pretty sparse. No soap, no bedside tables, no kleenex, no extra pillows (we got some from other bedrooms). At nearly 800/night, we think it should have been a little better set up.Even when you suspect that you won't be able to use the fireplace, it is hard to be in a beautiful log home without a fire! The home could have been cosier. Some big blankets in the Living Room maybe.

Great getaway in Garden Bay

Great accommodation. Owners were very friendly and responsive to any minor issues we had. Lots of room for the 6 of us. Amazing view from the back patio. Really enjoyed the hot tub. Place is located near several beautiful lakes.

Beautiful house and property

We do an annual family gathering...Dave and Katy's place was perfect for all the different ages of family memebrs and was close to swimming and hikes. Such a wonderful place with great views.

Stunning cabin, wonderful stay!

Thank you so much to Dave and Katy for sharing your beautiful home with us - the pictures looked amazing but reality was even better than we had imagined! Loved the deck with its cozy seating and stellar views, the beautiful vaulted ceilings in the living room, the comfy bedrooms and well-equipped kitchen, and the hot tub under the stars. This is a truly unique home in a beautiful location with so much to see and do - our only regret was that we didn't have enough time to take advantage of more of the sightseeing and activities on offer. We will be back and stay for longer next time!

Peaceful place, great craftsmanship, and the views are incredible!!

we had a wonderful family visit at this property. The owners were very generous and efficient and gave us lots of privacy. There was a sauna, a hot tub and a view that was unbelievable. This property is very unique. It is well off the beaten path with easy access to swimming in fresh or salt, water and lots of hiking. We fish and ate out and most of all enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the view. This is not your standard property. There are many beautiful handcrafted details and a collection of artwork that is quite unique. Thank you for having us!

June 2023 rental

Charming and unique log cabin with wonderful view of mountains, lakes, the sound and Vancouver Island. Lack of adjacent houses make it seem like a totally private north woods experience (bear, deer, many Bald Eagles and one elk spotted from the deck), Would have liked a bathroom on the second floor for the two bedrooms that are not the master suite, as the only second floor bath is in the master suite and therefore unsuitable for others to use during sleeping hours. Hosts were pleasant and helpful. Not knowing the hosts lived on the property (separate cabin and not obtrusive), we were a little stressed about how we would check-in for a late evening arrival. Texting clarified the issue and no problem as it turned out.

Als Erstes ist die grandiose Aussicht von der Terrasse zu erwähnen. Wir haben uns im Blockhaus sehr wohl gefühlt. Katie und Dave plus Hund empfingen uns sehr freundlich und erklärten uns das Haus. Wir haben keinen Bären gesehen, dafür konnten wir viele kleine Lebewesen beobachten.

Wonderful as always

This has always been one of our favourite spots on the Sunshine Coast, and now with the new barrel sauna and wood-fired hot tub it's even better! We had another wonderful stay appreciating the views and enjoying the property and its amenities. Dave and Katy were as always gracious and helpful hosts.

What a view! Beautiful spacious log cabin with all the conveniences you’ll need. A large grass area was perfect for bocce ball and croquet. The hot tub was being replaced but there was a sauna. Owners Katy and Dave were wonderful hosts! thanks you two!!

So awesome!

Amazing from start to finish. Great communication and the perfect mix of the owner being there for us and giving us space. The property is unbelievable and the views are even better than the pics. Hot tub and bbq are a great bonus too! Definitely stay here if you’re heading to the Sunshine Coast!

Amazing Cabin

Had a lovely (but too short) trip up to this proper log cabin. Amazing views overlooking Pender Harbour, great hot tub and a fire pit. Hosts were great!

What a view! (And cozy, too.)

My nuclear and extended family - three generations, eight people in all - stayed here for two nights, using the house as a base for excursions in the region. The house is charismatic and charming, but the real winner is the location and the glorious view from the deck (and most rooms). Reserving and accessing the house was easy, too.

Amazing views and cozy hot-tub!

Not our first time staying at this wonderful cabin and certainly not the last one! We had the most relaxing and fun weekend: celebrating New Years, hiking Mount Daniel, soaking in the hot-tub, walking down the road to Garden Bay Lake, playing board games and cooking up a storm in the great open kitchen. Could not have asked for more and yet, it seems like there was an endless supply of incredible sunrises and sunsets then starry night skies, all enjoyed form the huge deck. We're so grateful to our hosts, Dave and Katy for welcoming us once again at their cabin. Happy New Year! Fanny

Incredible View, Beautiful Artwork, close to lakes and Garden Bay

Dave is a great host, he met us at the property and showed us around his beautiful home. The house is a short drive from lakes and the marinas at Garden Bay. The living room and house is filled with amazing NW artwork. Relaxing in the hot tub, or outdoor porch, and looking at the view is awesome.

Spectacular views, lovely house!

Stunning views and a wonderful environment to relax for a few days. The log home is glorious and Dave and Katie are wonderfully helpful hosts. So much to do - loved the kayaking, lakes and hikes.

What a treat!!!

We left 2017 behind and welcomed 2018 in this gorgeous log cabin!! And we enjoyed every second of it! No words can describe how wonderful our weekend was; from the warm and welcoming hosts Dave & Katy to the relaxing hot tub, everything truly was perfect!
