We loved the location of this property. We saw lots of wildlife in our front and back lots. My only complaint was the small and very soft bed in the master bedroom.

Clean cozy cabin

We enjoyed our stay in Scaffner Cabin. It was the perfect location for all the hikes that we did in Rocky Mountain National Park. We loved relaxing in the cabin or on the back porch after a long day of hiking. Even had a moose walk through backyard one evening! We would stay here again.

Fall get away

My husband and i, and our extended family stay in Grand Lake several times a year. When it is just Tim and I, we do not need a huge house. This cabin was perfect for us. It was clean and cozy, but not cramped. We had plenty of room when we returned drom our all day long trips.we enjoy the Columbine Lake area. We have stayed here several times. It is removed from tiwn , but close to everything we enjoy doing. It was a great stay, and as always , Grand Mountain Rentals are great hosts.

The size of the cabin was perfect for our family of 4. Property manager was responsive and helpful. Inside the cabin itself I noticed a lot of dust on many surfaces, and some pots/pans on the shelf that were not fully cleaned.

Hi Becky, it seems like you enjoyed your stay overall! Unfortunately this home is located on a dirt road and here in the mountains dust is very prevalent. Pots and pans are also to be cleaned by guests, the cleaners just don't have time rewash all of the cookware in the home. We are glad that pots and pans are an easy fix and can be quickly recleaned if needed.

What could have been amazing fell flat

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A charming vacation home at first glance was not cleaned properly before our stay. The burners of the stovetop were absolutely filthy. The shower curtain was moldy and had to be bleached before we could use the downstairs shower. There was flammable items stored on top of the water heater. These items were all brought to the rental management attention. The management company refused to answer or fix.

Hello Pam, none of this was brought to our attention during your stay, so it is bit a bit frustrating to hear that for some reason you are saying we refused to assist you. We have no idea what flammable items you are referring to because again, you did not speak to anyone in our office regarding any of these items. We do recall you inquiring about large discounts on several of our homes before you booked one, so perhaps you felt the need the leave a negative review because you were unhappy with the overall price. We sure hope you find accommodations that better suit you in the future.

Poor property management/ great house!

Very nice house but rental/ property management company communication was poor. The house and area are great! We did not receive communication about check-in in a timely manner. I started calling 2 hrs before check-in to see if we could check in by chance early. The management company office where we needed to pick up key was closed for the day. We called all 3 phone numbers left on sign on door ( no communication about being closed for the day prior either), messaged on VRBO many times and finally an hour after the check in time posted, someone called us back (this was an hour after what VRBO said was check-in time) to give us the info of how to get a key to the house. We wasted 3 1/2 hrs of our time on vacation worrying if we even had a place to stay for the next 2 nights since no one would message or call back. After finally getting a call they said it was due to poor internet service. That doesn't make since, we called multiple times with no one calling back for 3 1/2 hrs. Very disappointed to lose our vacation time that would have been spent in Rocky Mnt National Park.

Hi Jodi, It’s disappointing to read your review. We apologized for the technological mishap that day profusely and you seemed very understanding at the time. As we explained to you the day of your arrival, because of the internet outage, none of information had sent out the way we intended causing you to receive your check-in information about 30 minutes late. We in fact had been in the office that day but had to close for the remainder of the day because we had no way of communicating to incoming guests. From home, we called everyone arriving that day personally, after finding out that none of communication had sent successfully, to make sure all guests got into their homes safety. You are unfortunately the only one who felt the need to leave a negative review. Several other guests got check-in information a bit late that day as well and none felt the need to blame us for the hours long internet outage. To further explain our position, which seems to be of some confusion to you, our phones are VoIP connections, meaning they run off of the internet. With no internet, there is no phone connection, no forwarding service available and no way of knowing who had called, no sending emails or text via our reservation software, checking Vrbo messages, etc. Also, we had certainly not guaranteed you any kind of early check-in, so to begin calling hours before check-in at 4pm, assuming an early check-in would be extended is a bit unreasonable. We are definitely appreciative of guests that extend us the courtesy of understanding that sometimes there are circumstances that happen that are beyond our control, as it is absolutely not common for our company and apologize once again.

I would recommend it for 2 adults or more ( one bed, two hide-a-beds) and it would be great accomodations for a family with up to 6 children. Location is beautiful.

Lovely Visit to Grand Lake

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an excellent rental experience. Very clear communication and easy check-in. The cabin was a good value and very well decorated and appointed. Peaceful coexistence with wildlife too! A moose grazed next to the cabin one day and a deer the next. Located in a nearby private development but only a 5 minute drive to downtown Grand Lake. Recommended!
