Beim Betreten werden Sie sofort von riesigen 8x8 'grob gesägten Sichthölzern begrüßt, die aus einer alten, 1898 erbauten Illinois-Scheune stammen. Eine angenehme Mischung aus Stallbalken, wiederverwendeten Holzwänden und glatten Trockenbauwänden schafft einen äußerst gemütlichen und einladenden Raum. Ein riesiger Kamin aus gestapeltem Stein mit einem 55-Zoll-Flachbildschirm steht im Mittelpunkt des Hauptraums und blickt über die weitläufige Küchentheke aus weißem Granit. Maßgefertigte Holzböden in den Wohnbereichen, Schiefer in der Küche und im unteren Bad sowie weiche Teppiche in den Schlafzimmern. Das Erdgeschoss verfügt über ein Queen-Size-Schlafzimmer und ein Hauptbad mit großer begehbarer Dusche und einem Wäscheschrank. 2 Queen-Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss sind durch ein großes Badezimmer aus Travertin getrennt. Doppelwaschbecken auf einem massgefertigten Waschtisch aus Walnussholz, eine begehbare Dusche mit Glasrahmen und freiliegende Holzbalken schaffen eine Spa-Atmosphäre. Der große Loft-Bereich im Obergeschoss mit gemütlichen Sofagarnituren überblickt den Wohnbereich mit Kamin und handgefertigtem Geweihleuchter.

Unser Hotel wurde auf umweltfreundliche Weise entworfen und gebaut, um den Gästen den größtmöglichen Komfort zu bieten. Aus diesem Grund haben wir uns für Geräte und Beleuchtung mit Energie-Sternen, hochwertige Holzfenster, erstklassige Isolierung und keine Voc-Farben und -Lacke entschieden. Unser Trane-Heizsystem der Spitzenklasse ist mit einem 99,9% igen Hepa-Filter und einem HVR-Gerät ausgestattet, das ständig Luft durch das Haus zirkuliert, um saubere und frische Luft zu erhalten.
Die Landschaftsgestaltung rund um das Haus wurde mit allen einheimischen Steinen durchgeführt, die während des Baus ausgegraben wurden. Whirlpool, Feuerstelle und Lagerschuppen in privater Hinterhoflage, umgeben von hohen Bäumen. Die Sonnenterrasse ist der perfekte Ort, um nachmittags einen Drink zu genießen und dabei die Aussicht auf den Rutschenberg zu genießen.

Magical getaway for Christmas!

The Knotty Lodge was the perfect getaway for Christmas for our family of four. The property was super clean (a biggie for me), cozy and welcoming. From the moment we walked in the door we knew we had picked the perfect place to stay! Quality linens, comfortable beds, lots of towels, the beautiful Christmas tree on the landing, a few treats to eat and drink...so many amazing things! The property owners Csaba and Rosemary were outstanding hosts from their great communication to their care and attention to their guests.We highly recommend this property and we hope to return one day!

We have been coming up to the lodge every year around Thanksgiving and can’t say enough about how amazing it is! We have everything we need there for a relaxing getaway including a hot tub, fire pit, and close proximity to Mt. Baker. Casaba is an excellent host! We’ll definitely stay again!

Wonderful outdoor spaces--book it!

We loved the Knotty Lodge. Our family (four of us--with an active 15 year old son and introverted 19 year old daughter) were there for almost a week at the end of July. We were looking for a place with nice outdoor space and it was perfect. Sure the environment itself is beautiful but it is the way the owners created the outdoor spaces which made it so lovely. As we walked through the quiet neighborhood, we took notice of other outdoor spaces and never saw one so cared for and thoughtfully designed. There are multiple sitting areas--picnic table, fire pit, patio table & chaise lounger. We also liked that there are some walking trails in the neighborhood next to the creek/river. We spent one day just enjoying that area--playing in the water, foraging thimble berries, and just enjoying the scenery. Another day when it was drizzling, my husband and I just enjoyed walking by the river when the kids wanted to stay in. The house itself was beautiful and thoughtfully furnished--throw blankets, plenty of towels & hooks to hang them, travel mugs for coffee on the drive to Mt Baker and even a daypack available for use. It was so comfortable in every way allowing us to really relax. A few FYIs: you likely need a book light for non-electronic reading as the house has only one reading lamp (loft), the bar is the only indoor dining space, even with the very well equipped kitchen--for specific items you might verify or bring it and you can also see Knotty Lodge at "HeirBee&Bee."

Beautiful, Well-Designed Home

This was perfect for an early summer getaway with a group of friends. The property is so well thought out, the landscaping in the backyard especially is so intelligent. The kitchen was really fun to cook in. It was almost painful to leave the hot tub and amazing showers behind. The hosts were super communicative - they had a candle going and music playing for is when we walked in! We would definitely consider booking again in the future!

PNW Spring Break

The owners of Knotty Lodge provide an absolute top level of service and experience. The home was immaculately clean, check in seamless, and communication with the host was rapid and informative. Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay (5yr old and 9 yr old children). The kitchen has every item one could possibly need to prepare a meal. The home is equipped with games, books and even a small toy box for young children. The neighborhood is quiet. Mt. Baker is about a 30 minute drive away. The Skagit Valley with the Tulip Festival is about an hour away. Glacier, WA itself is small with limited resources therefore we recommend shopping for groceries and sundries in Burlington (Costco, Target, Haggan’s, Fred Myer Grocery). Overall, you and absolutely cannot go wrong selecting the Knotty Lodge for your accommodation needs. Truly a remarkable home.

A magical stay!

My family and I stayed at the lodge over Christmas. It was beautifully decorated with all things Christmas - including a tree! The hosts also left little surprises which my little boy loved discovering. The property itself is well taken care of and very clean. It's well stocked and has everything you need for a home away from home. Top notch appliances etc. Thank you for making our Christmas away from home magical - we highly recommend to all guests.

Beautiful & Unique Cabin

Our family of 6 adults, one infant, and a dog, stayed here for 10 days for our annual family Christmas getaway. Everyone loved the cabin, the big fireplace, the hot tub, and proximity to Mt. Baker recreation. Csaba was indeed a super host with great communication, thoughtful follow up on how we were doing and even an extra load of firewood when we ran out. We found great local coffee shops nearby including the Wake & Bakery and Grahams in Glacier. Both were top notch for food and service. Crossroads in Maple Falls turned out to be a great little grocery store for picking up little things to cook dinners. The hike near the grocery store to see the falls was great too. Two of us were working throughout the week and the wifi / bandwidth was plenty fast for all of our remote meetings, movie streaming, phones, etc. If Mt Baker is your destination then definitely consider this property, you won't be disappointed. The construction of the interior of the cabin is very fun and uniquely done, there are little treasures to be found in cubby holes all over the cabin so my wife left a handmade Christmas ornament to be found by future guests.

Another amazing stay!

We have now stayed at the Knotty Lodge several times and can’t imagine a better place to stay in the area. The location is perfect for exploring and the house is beautiful! Fall colors at Mt. Baker

The Knotty Lodge is amazing! It had everything we needed for our family hiking trip. Super comfortable beds, hot tub and fire place made it so nice after our day hikes. And what an incredibly beautiful time to visit the mountains, the colors of the trees with a fresh dusting of snow, we captured some family photos. We even found some Chantelle mushrooms to take home. We will be back to stay at this spectacular cabin again soon!

We hosted a small elopement reception for the weekend with a private dinner in the backyard after the ceremony. The backyard was the perfect place to relax and celebrate. The house itself is well-equipped and nicely appointed. It’s about a 45 min drive up to Artist Point. Csaba was very helpful and accommodating. Great home to stay at!

Knotty Pine was amazing! Quiet, beautiful on the inside and outside. The neighborhood is quiet but cute. Morning walks was nice in the neighborhood looking at all the mountain homes and the river. Highly recommend staying here for anyone with a large family or a bunch of friends wanting to vacation together. We stayed here for our wedding at Mt.Baker. Great location to the mountain and plenty of room for all of us to get ready for the sunrise ceremony. The owners even left us flowers and a gift basket to welcome us in. The only recommendation I have is to include more wash rags and towels for the hot tub.

Clean, quiet and spacious

We rented this house for a long weekend over memorial day. We had been to the area many times before and were looking forward to going back. The house was absolutely wonderful. Very clean, very spacious and was equipped with most every thing you would ever need. Csaba and Rosemary were also wonderful hosts. Very quick on communication and answered any questions we had. Wonderful property

Long Mother’s Day weekend. Beautiful woodwork and decor with the rustic feel we had hoped for. Has all the modern amenities and for the most part had a well stocked kitchen. Home is located in a neighborhood, but with plenty of trees it felt private. We were fortunate we had great weather so we took advantage of the slate patio relaxing and swapping lies. The hot tub, fire pit and toys stored the shed all got well exercised.

Great weekend getaway

Really enjoyed our stay! We grew up in Whatcom County and have been a huge fan of the mountains and snowboarding for all our lives. Ever since we first met in 2006 we both agreed that we wanted a place in beautiful Glacier WA. We got married in 2012 and decided to build our first dream home all at the same time. The foundation for the knotty lodge, was poured on the day of our wedding. -talk about crazy :)
We love meeting new people from all around and sharing a slice of the mountain lifestyle with each and every guest we welcome at the Knotty Lodge.

Csaba rescued an old barn from Illinois that was built in 1898, knowing that he wanted to build a reclaimed timber home using all the wood he had salvaged. Two years later we acquired our beautiful southern facing lot in the glacier springs community. We had been looking for years at this awesome little neighborhood near Mt. Baker with a laid back lifestyle and the best water in the state.
After we bought the property, we designed the home around the timbers Csaba had salvaged, and built it ourselves with the help of our great friends and family. Our appreciation for using reclaimed and eco friendly materials is evident throughout the home from the native stone fireplace to the hand made barn wood furnishings.
The Knotty Lodge has become a much appreciated get-away destination for many guests since we entered the vacation rental market in Dec 2013
The Knotty Lodge is our first vacation property, and an exceptional showpiece for Csaba's business in log and timber homes and wood working.
We are proud to have one of the nicest places in Glacier, we keep it clean and new and love welcoming all our guests to enjoy it as well.

Enjoy the feel of a historic 115 year old barn frame resurrected into a beautiful home, top of the line finishes through out, and user friendliness of a modern home are just few perks our property offers. Not having any immediate neighbors makes it a very private and peaceful place.
