Welcome to Happy Hideaway, your inviting lakefront retreat on beautiful Bush Lake. Whether you’re planning a peaceful escape, a family vacation, or a fun weekend on the water, this cozy getaway offers the perfect setting to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by a charming covered front porch with two rocking chairs, the perfect place to enjoy a quiet morning coffee or unwind in the evening breeze. Inside, the tiled entryway includes a convenient front-load washer and dryer, making it easy to settle in and feel right at home.
The main floor features a warm and welcoming kitchen with plenty of storage, a large island with three stools, and everything you need for easy meals and lake-day snacks, including a stove, dishwasher, dishes, cookware, and a full-size refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser. The dining area seats six comfortably for shared meals, board games, or morning planning before heading out for the day. There is also a small flexible workspace with the wifi modem and router on the main floor if you need to check in while away. Large windows and a sliding glass door fill the space with natural light and offer beautiful lake views, while the cozy living area with a spacious sectional and Smart TV is perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors.
The primary bedroom with room-darkening curtains, located just off the main living area, offers a king-size bed, generous closet space, an en-suite bathroom with tub and shower, private access to the upper deck, and lovely views of the lake. A second bedroom  with room-darkening curtains includes a queen-size bed and ample storage, and an additional full bathroom with shower is conveniently located off the hallway.
The upper deck is a favorite gathering spot, with multiple seating areas for outdoor dining, card games, or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings. A large propane grill makes evening cookouts easy, and a staircase leads down to the lower patio, yard, and lakefront.
The lower level offers even more room to unwind, with an additional bathroom featuring heated floors and a jacuzzi tub, a storage area stocked with life jackets and lake essentials, and a second living space complete with a gas fireplace, Smart TV, foosball table, puzzles, and VHS and DVD movies with players. There is also a fun sleeping area for kids with twin bunk beds and two additional twin beds, creating the perfect hangout space for younger guests.
Outside, the gently sloping yard leads to the water and creates a welcoming space for both play and quiet relaxation. Spend evenings around the large fire pit, enjoy shaded seating beneath the upper deck, or take advantage of the sandy beach area. Additional muck mats was installed for sandy water access all the way to the end of the 56-foot dock with tie-ups and bumpers if you’d like to bring your boat, the public boat launch is only a short drive away.
For time on the lake, guests can enjoy a four-seat paddle boat and kayaks. Bush Lake is known for panfish and largemouth bass, making it a great spot for fishing right from the dock or out on the water. As an all-sports lake, it also offers plenty of room for waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding, and surfing. The lake is a clear beautiful lake with temperature reaching mid 80 degrees F in the summer.
Ample parking is available across the road in front of the owner’s garage for your vehicles or truck and boat trailer.
There’s plenty to explore nearby as well. Parks and playgrounds are just a short walk or drive away, and within five minutes you’ll find local restaurants, a gas station, an ice cream shop, a grocery store, and party stores. The surrounding area also offers canoe liveries, tubing rivers, and state parks for hiking and outdoor adventures.
Weekdays on the lake are typically calm and serene, with only occasional boat traffic. Weekends bring a little more activity and summertime fun, while mornings and evenings remain peaceful thanks to no-wake hours from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.
