This is a very nice property and Amy was the perfect host. A couple of things I need to mention:There is NO air conditioning. As visitors from the South, we forgot that many homes in the North do not have this feature. Not a deal breaker, but it bears mentioning that the house did get to 78 inside in the afternoon and stayed there until well after 10 PM. A few portable fans would be a welcome addition, just to get some air moving. Also, as frequent VRBO renters we are used to small amenities, like salt and pepper, and some type of sugar or other sweetener for our coffee (which was provided, thank you!) The kitchen was, however, otherwise well equipped enough to cook small, simple meals. The neighbors in the adjoining unit do smoke, so when the windows were open we got the full benefit of their residual smoke, and had to close the windows during peak heat hours. That was unfortunate. Also they have dogs, which we heard barking. A LOT, since the windows needed to be open. There is one window without a screen, one with a screen so warped it was useless, and one in the kitchen with holes in it so we had a few ant visitors. This is a nice property and it served our needs, but please understand that there is room for improvement. Overall, a nice stay. We will not need to visit Byron again, but if we did, I would be more prepared.Do not let this review deter you from renting, the beds are comfy and the location is secluded yet close to the thruway and anything else you need.
