Fox and Tide: Charleston Area Getaway, a 4BR Townhome Near Everything

Hi, we’re Kim and Mike. After nearly 50 years of marriage, raising four children, and growing a wonderful family, we’re excited for this new chapter as hosts. Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, we first fell in love with the Charleston area after one of our daughters moved here more than 10 years ago. What started as frequent visits quickly turned into a second home and eventually a new adventure for our family.

Now recently retired from careers in education and insurance, we have more time to enjoy the things we love most: spending time with family, traveling, relaxing near the water, and discovering great local restaurants and hidden gems around the Lowcountry. We created this home to feel comfortable, welcoming, and easy to settle into whether you’re here for a beach trip, a downtown Charleston getaway, visiting family, or simply a chance to slow down for a few days.

Our hosting style is simple. We want guests to feel genuinely welcomed, have clear communication, and enjoy a clean, thoughtfully prepared space that feels a little more personal than a standard rental. While we may not be Charleston natives, this area has become a meaningful part of our family’s story, and we love sharing it with others.

The name Fox & Tide Hospitality reflects both our family roots and this new coastal chapter. We’re grateful you’re considering staying with us and hope your time here is relaxing, memorable, and full of everything that makes the Charleston area so special.

We chose this neighborhood because it gave us the best of both worlds: a quieter, more relaxed home base while still being close to everything we love about the Charleston area. We enjoy that guests can easily explore downtown Charleston, Park Circle, beaches, restaurants, shopping, and local events without feeling right in the middle of the crowds when it’s time to come back and unwind.

One of our favorite things about the area is how convenient it is while still feeling residential and comfortable. You’re close to grocery stores, coffee shops, parks, and everyday essentials, but also within an easy drive of some of the Lowcountry’s best food, waterfront views, and historic spots.

We especially love how central the location is for visitors who want flexibility during their stay. Some days can be spent exploring Charleston’s history and downtown energy, while others are perfect for slower mornings, beach trips, or evenings out in nearby neighborhoods like Park Circle. It’s a great balance of convenience, comfort, and local charm.

What makes our home special is the combination of comfort, location, and the personal care that comes with being a family-run property. We wanted it to feel less like a generic rental and more like a place where guests can actually settle in, relax, and enjoy their time in the Charleston area.

The home is located in Tanner Plantation, a quieter neighborhood that gives guests a peaceful place to unwind while still being conveniently close to downtown Charleston, beaches, Park Circle, shopping, restaurants, and the airport. Many guests love having easy access to everything without staying directly in the busiest tourist areas.

Inside, we focused on creating a space that feels clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with a relaxed coastal feel. We’ve tried to include the kinds of details we appreciate when we travel ourselves, from comfortable gathering spaces to practical touches that make longer stays easier.

We also created a digital guest guide through Fox & Tide Hospitality with local recommendations, neighborhood information, and helpful resources so guests can easily explore the area like locals. Since we’re family-run and have close ties to the area, we genuinely enjoy helping guests have a great stay and are available if questions come up along the way.
