This review warrants a factual response for prospective guests: Cameras: exterior-only and disclosed in the listing. There is no interior monitoring of any kind. The characterization of being “watched” inside the unit is false. The exterior door: this guest was instructed at check-in to lock the building’s exterior door on entry and exit. He repeatedly left it unlocked, and other guests in the building reported it. The message he received was rule enforcement to protect the safety of every paying guest on the property, not a threat. Occupancy: the noise monitoring system registered a disturbance, and the unit contained approximately 20 people in a space with a posted occupancy of 4. Guests are always welcome to have a few friends over respectfully. A gathering of that size is not that. Phone contact was attempted first and went unanswered, after which a 50-mile drive to the property was required to address the situation in person. Noise: the disturbance continued until approximately 5 AM, keeping other paying guests in the building awake. The guest was informed that the police would be called if it did not stop. That was a direct response to documented complaints from other guests in the building. Vrbo was notified with supporting documentation of the rule violations, and a specific request was made that the reservation not be cancelled so the stay could be completed. Notably, this review does not contain a single complaint about the property itself — not the unit, the cleanliness, the amenities, or the location. Every issue raised concerns the enforcement of house rules the guest agreed to at booking.
