The Space:

A luxe hideaway among the redwoods on the Northern California Coast, this mid-century retreat exudes warmth and comfort in truly magical surroundings. Rainbow Ridge is a haven for beachcombing, hiking, taking long scenic drives, and finding the utmost in peace and relaxation.



This single-story home sits on over a third of an acre on the sunny Gualala ridge, nestled among fragrant redwoods just above town. The house is right across the road from the Redwood Coast Recreation Center Disc Golf Course, and only two miles from Gualala's charming markets, cafes, and art galleries. Anchor Bay, the Sea Ranch Golf Links, and Gualala Point Regional Park (a marvelous spot for whale watching) are all within a five-mile drive as well.



Inspired by Joseph Eichler's open, airy designs and close connection to nature, this home was thoughtfully restored in 2022 to revive its mid-century character. A rear wall of windows overlooks the gardens and grove, and sliding glass doors connect to the expansive deck, where you can sip your coffee in the mornings, barbecue in the afternoons, and listen to the sounds of the woods at night.



The interior living spaces are cozy and inviting, including a great room warmed by a woodstove, an elegant kitchen outfitted with stainless steel appliances, and a dining area with a smart TV mounted to one wall. Of the two serene bedrooms, one is a primary suite with its own bathroom.

Your Gualala home base puts you a short drive from local restaurants, the Gualala Arts Center, and grocery shopping. Explore stunning beaches at Gualala Point Regional Park Gualala Point Regional Park is a short drive away.



Getting Around:

From San Francisco, the drive is about 2.5 hours via Highway 101 to Highway 1. Fly into Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS), about 90 minutes east, and drive the coast from there. Having a car opens up the entire Mendonoma Coast.

April through June brings stunning wildflower displays along the bluffs and throughout Gualala Point Regional Park. The warmest months run June to September. Coastal fog is common early in the day but gives way to sunshine by afternoon.
