I wanted to escape the rat race, an exhausting weekly routine of a repetitive lifestyle that leaves little time for relaxation or enjoyment.
Finca La Cantarera has 19 acres of land, a mixture of clay and loamy soils, mainly left to grazing pasture. It’s a wild habitat, purposefully kept like that to attract wildlife, to nurture the bird life on the migratory journey across the Straits. To allow the ecosystem to thrive, to encourage our own development within nature.
Each day starts with watching the sun creep over the hills. At the moment the herd brays for the morning feed, the insects buzz, birds tweet and chickens squawk to be free to forage; the day is fresh, clean, energised and ready for activity!
Nature and animal life is a huge part of our lives at Finca La Cantarera, we invite you to share it with us. Horses, donkeys, goats, dogs, ducks and chickens make up our menagerie. Henrietta (our head chicken) can be persuaded to share an egg or two, subject to her laying schedule! Our animals live a natural life, in herds, flocks and packs, they are naturally inquisitive and will want be curious to see you.
