A 1924 craftsman bungalow with a private guest house in Mar Vista, on the border of Culver City. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms across the main home and a fully built-out ADU. A remodeled kitchen, original woodwork throughout, and French doors opening to a lush backyard with avocado, lemon, and kumquat trees. Family-friendly with a crib and kids items available. A teak dining table, BBQ, and mature landscaping make the yard feel like a private retreat. Ideal for a monthly stay starting June 1
This 1924 craftsman bungalow sits on a quiet, tree-lined block in Mar Vista, on the border of Culver City. The home has the kind of character and warmth that newer construction cannot replicate, with original woodwork, crown moldings, and hardwood floors throughout. It has also been thoughtfully updated for comfortable daily living.
A slate front porch with two swinging chairs greets you at the entry, setting the tone before you step inside. Through the front door, you enter the living room, which is smaller in scale but charming and well furnished with a couch and television. The space feels cozy and inviting rather than oversized.
To the left of the living room is a small bedroom currently set up with a crib and children`s items, making it immediately functional for families traveling with young kids. A shared bathroom with a tub and shower sits centrally between this room and a second small bedroom, currently configured as a kids` room. These two bedrooms and the shared bath form a natural family wing at the front of the home.
Moving through the house, you reach the kitchen, which is long and oriented toward the backyard. A large kitchen island anchors the space and serves as the natural gathering point for cooking and spending time together. The kitchen is fully remodeled with stone countertops, modern appliances, and good cabinet storage. A washer and dryer are located in this area as well.
The primary bedroom is off to the left, set apart from the front bedrooms for privacy. The room is comfortable, with doors that open directly to the backyard. The en-suite bathroom is on the smaller side but functional and updated. The indoor-outdoor connection from this room makes it feel larger than its footprint.
French doors from the kitchen open to the backyard, which is one of the best features of this home. The yard is lush, green, and enclosed by mature landscaping. An avocado tree, a lemon tree, a kumquat tree, and additional citrus trees line the property, delivering the kind of Southern California living that photographs do not fully capture. A teak dining table sits in the yard for outdoor meals, and a BBQ is set up along the side of the house. The space feels private, calm, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time in.
At the rear of the yard is a fully built-out ADU. Inside, you will find a bedroom, a small kitchen, a workstation with a couch, and a Peloton for working out. This space functions as a true standalone unit with its own entrance, offering privacy and flexibility as a guest suite, home office, or wellness space.
This is a family-friendly home. The crib, children`s items, and kid-configured bedrooms are available for guest use, and the enclosed backyard provides a safe, contained outdoor space for young children. The home includes central air and heat, a tankless water heater, updated copper plumbing and electrical, and solar panels. One driveway parking space is included, with ample street parking on this low-traffic block.
The home is available for a monthly stay beginning June 1, with the calendar open for approximately 50 days to accommodate flexible booking dates. It is a home with real personality and warmth, well suited for a family looking for a comfortable, residential base on the Westside during an extended stay in Los Angeles.
Guests will have access to the entire property, including the main home, guest house, and backyard. There will be no one else on the property, other than the weekly gardener, unless otherwise discussed with you in advance.
