A secluded cottage in the woods
An approximate 45 minute drive from Grand Marais on the Gunflint Trail brings you to a dirt road and to this secluded cottage. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the northwoods. Observe the stars, planets and the milky way in one the International Dark Skies sanctuaries.
Come in to a cozy living room with breathtaking views of the woods and lake. Watch birds, squirrels, and other wildlife from inside its double patio glass doors and be AWE-mazed!
A short walk towards the lake brings you to a set of stairs and to the dock. Spend time just being in the presence of nature, fishing or take a kayak or canoe trip and explore the lake and its magic.
The stunning and equipped modern kitchen offers all the necessary items to make your own meals to be enjoyed around the large island, table or outside on the deck.
The upstairs has one inviting large bedroom with a queen bed and a daybed/set of twin beds for extra sleeping space.
An open family/TV room is also upstairs with a full size futon and a small futon chair for even more sleeping space or just hanging out watching TV.
A half bathroom is located in the main floor and a large full bathroom is located in the second level.
This adorable and serene retreat invites guests to relax and recharge in a peaceful setting. We hope you'll enjoy your stay at our cottage.
Things to know:
* This is an isolated location. Come prepared with groceries, full tank of gas, etc.
* Uneven surfaces throughout property, watch your step.
* The property runs on a septic system. Please help us maintain it by conserving water and only disposing of toilet paper provided.
Anything else should be disposed in the trash can. Thank you.
* The property uses lake water that it is filtered (sediment, carbon and UV light) for the whole house.
****Water may still maintain a yellowish color.
****Additional countertop filter available
* No air conditioning on site, only fans. House maintains quite cool if curtains and shades are closed.
* No indoor fires
* No pets allowed. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
* There is a smaller rental unit on property - Listing #4447093
* There is one aluminum canoe and two kayaks plus PFDs available and are on a first come service basis.
* No motorized boat launch on property.
