Welcome to Elfin Forest, a magical country hamlet with miles of hiking trails—just 20 min from San Diego’s best beaches.

The Harmony Oaks guest house is a bright, modern space on a working horse ranch. It has all-new finishes, vaulted ceilings, a custom glass wall, and lots of natural light.

Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, comfy king-size bed, and a dedicated workspace. The covered patio is perfect for enjoying meals alfresco. Mid-century decor and vintage surf memorabilia add to the charm.

The space
**Property: The guest home is located on a 3-acre working horse ranch across the street from an expansive nature preserve. It's adjacent to the primary house where our family lives full time.

**Bedroom: The bedroom features a king-size bed with a brand new, comfy mattress and 100% cotton linens; a dedicated workspace with a desk and Eames office chair; and a cheery reading nook. Large windows with views of the horse paddocks. Natural light abounds. Extra large walk-in closet.

**Bathroom: Features a shower/tub combo perfect for soaking after a day of hiking, biking, or exploring. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and towels are provided.

**Living area: Enjoy comfortable seating, a 50” smart TV with the usual entertainment apps, and abundant natural light thanks to the custom glass wall. Mid-century modern furnishings, original artwork, and vintage surf memorabilia adorn the space.

**Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances including a gas stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Cooking and dining essentials are provided along with coffee (French press) and tea.

**Outdoor: The covered patio features a seating area and a dining table for four. It’s the perfect spot to relax or enjoy a meal alfresco as the sun sets over the rolling foothills.

**Location: Located in Elfin Forest, a peaceful rural community in north county San Diego with miles of hiking trails, abundant wildlife, and country vibes—yet just 20 minutes from San Diego’s best beaches. Guests can walk to the Escondido Creek Conservancy nature preserve right across the street for hiking, mountain biking, nature walks, and bird-watching by the creek. Check out the Elfin Forest Interpretive Center 3 min away to experience local flora and fauna. Close to locally famous surf spots, Legoland, San Diego Safari Park, and Cal State San Marcos.

Guest access
The guest house is close to but fully separate from the primary house and has its own private entrance. Guests have access to the entire guest house and outdoor patio. Private laundry is available for stays over 5 days. Parking available for up to two vehicles.

Ideally suited for solo travelers or couples but can accommodate parents with a baby or child; pack-n-play, children's books, and toys available.

Other things to note
The property is a working horse ranch. Guests are welcome to visit the horses but for their safety, may not touch or feed the horses or enter any horse pen or enclosure. Thanks!
