From the back door, you’ll enjoy peaceful woodland views, and just a short, easy walk through the tall pines brings you to Boom Lake with a private beach, an ideal spot to relax, recharge, and soak up the Northwoods.

The cabin offers pleasant heating and cooling to keep you comfortable no matter the season. Whether you’re seeking peaceful moments by the water or the thrill of snowmobiling, this cozy retreat offers year-round adventure. Spend your days exploring the Wisconsin River, fishing, boating, jet skiing, ice fishing, or gliding through snow-covered trails on cross-country skis.

After a day outdoors, unwind with hot cocoa on the patio or gather around the firepit to roast s’mores under the stars. Nearby activities include Hodag Country Festival, Trails for Hiking, Biking, ATV/UTV, and Snowmobiling.

The place was clean and amazing , the host was super nice and assist my family and I throughout our stay . This cabin has everything you need and could think of ! Board games ,towels,blankets,blow up beds and a kitchen and pantry with everything you could need.

Beautiful property. Great views. Very cozy, nicely decorated. Small touches (Snack / S’more basket, beach towels, bluetooth speaker, games, etc.) were much appreciated. Secluded patio with ample space & seating. Host was very communicative and accommodating. Great location, close to Rhinelander. Highly recommend this property!

We took my elderly mother on a getaway for her birthday. We had a great stay and enjoyed our time at Lakeside Retreat. The location was prefect. It is a very peaceful, relaxing setting. My mom loved that everything was on one level and had many modern conveniences. The sunsets were beautiful. I was left with the impression the our hosts really want their guests to enjoy Lakeside Retreat as they put a lot of thought and care into this wonderful place.

This cabin was everything we could have asked for and then some. The cabin itself was immaculate and had anything that we would need - from a well stocked kitchen to having beach towels in case we forgot ours. The location is wonderful - located on a quiet lane with a private beach, dock, and communal fire pit steps away. The location is perfect - far enough away from the city center but still within a short drive to plenty of restaurants, parks, and grocery stores. The hosts were some of the best that we have had - helpful during the booking process and quick to respond to any questions that came up during our stay. This is a 10/10 and we can't wait to make the Lakeside Retreat a summer family tradition

This host takes great care of their property! Instructions were clear, it was easy to get an out. The beach is beautiful. The fire pit was enjoyable especially not having to purchase wood. On top of that has a complete country vibe. But it’s only 10 minutes From Rhinelander! It’s well decorated the furniture is clean, and in good condition the beds were comfortable. It was just exactly what we would hope for in a rental like this.

Hi! We’re Jeff and Cynthia. We’ve been married for 25 years and are proud parents of four wonderful kids, two boys and two girls. For more than 15 years, our family vacationed in the Northwoods, creating countless memories exploring lakes, trails, and everything the region has to offer. In 2013, we finally took the leap and purchased our dream property: a full log cabin on nearly 30 acres in Rhinelander. After years of splitting our time between Germantown and the Northwoods, we officially made Rhinelander our home in 2024.

We love Wisconsin in every season, but northern Wisconsin has always held a special place in our hearts. Whether we're swimming, kayaking, pontooning, fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, or exploring by UTV, we’re happiest outdoors and on the move.

Professionally, we’ve both spent years as business owners. Jeff recently retired after a 40+ year career, while Cynthia continues to run her communications business. Outside of work, we pour our energy into the Northwoods Honor Flight Benefit, committed to raising awareness about the incredible service and sacrifices of our Veterans. Many Veterans in the area still haven’t experienced an Honor Flight or don’t feel worthy of one. Our mission is to advocate for them and ensure every Northwoods Veteran has the chance to take the flight they've earned.

Lakeside Retreat is our second cabin with many amenities. Sharing our cabin is something we’re truly excited about. Whether you're seeking quiet relaxation, outdoor fun, or a true taste of the Northwoods, we’re thrilled to welcome you and help make your time here unforgettable.

We fell in love with this location the moment we arrived. It offers the perfect blend of privacy, natural beauty, and relaxation - everything we’d always hoped for in a Northwoods retreat. Tucked away in a peaceful, wooded setting, it feels like your own private escape while still offering thoughtful amenities that make every stay feel special.

One of the bigger highlights is the private beach and dock. There is an HOA that does allow renters to utilize the onsite amenities (Kayaks on beach are not for renters use). Whether you're enjoying a quiet morning coffee by the water or on the patio surrounded by tall pines, casting a line, or watching the sunset reflect across the lake from the beach, it’s truly a place where time slows down.

It also features a welcoming common-area fire pit, ideal for unwinding after a day of adventure. It’s a great spot for roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, or simply soaking in the serenity of the Northwoods under a sky full of stars.
Above all, what drew us here is the sense of calm and connection to nature. The area is peaceful, scenic, and serene, offering the perfect backdrop for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors.
