Unexpected things can happen in any vacation home, including maintenance issues that cannot always be anticipated. What we can control is how we respond, and our team remained in communication and actively worked to address the concerns reported during this stay. The smoke-detector issue was initially reported, and our maintenance technician went to the property and replaced the battery. The guest confirmed that the technician was there completing the repair. When the issue was later reported again, the guest explained that, due to their Sabbath, they had only been able to alert us afterward. We respected their religious observance while continuing to coordinate maintenance and access. It is therefore important to clarify that the issue was not simply ignored or left unaddressed. Our team communicated, attempted troubleshooting, coordinated maintenance, and continued following up. The pool heating was activated, and temperature readings were provided during the stay. The guest ultimately acknowledged that the pool was working. We also accommodated their request to adjust the thermostat schedule to 69–70°F. We understand that unexpected issues can be frustrating, especially during a vacation, and we regret the disruption.
