Great, overall... although we were not able to access the internet. Luckily, we were there for a Wedding and were able to do without it.
I have stayed in numerous VRBO places over the years. This townhouse was one of the best for space, decor, comfort, and amenities! There were some very nice snacks and a great variety of coffee from which to choose. I had a couple of questions before we arrived, and they were always answered very quickly, and even had a follow up call to make sure I had received everything. Additionally we were given numbers to call if we needed anything either during the day, or an emergency number if something came up later. The only downside was that we could not get the Wifi to work, but it wasn't so important that we even wanted to call in about it.
The property was nice , up to date with technology and appliances. Some rooms were good while others could've been bigger. We had 7 people including a dog. There was a king, queen, twin, and sofa pull out, which fit perfectly (two couples, three single people). It was interesting that the master was huge with a loft while the other two rooms were very much smaller. The family room was a little small for all 7 of us ( couch and one chair). the only place where all seven could talk and hang out together was the dining area or patio area or outside community fire pit area. The fire pit and bbq was a nice surprise. We bbq d on one of our nights.
We also enjoyed the welcome basket, included items like keurig cups, and plastic baggies. The cable, wifi and appliances. We arrived two hours before check in (drove from Sacramento). The cleaners were friendly and let us lounge in the family room. That was nice of them.
The neighbor wasn't very pleasant around dogs. She had prejudices against germs shepherds, which wasn't fair to our peaceful and friendly gsd. The looks of the town home had up stairs balconies, but we later found out it was the house to the left and house to the right. Every night we had ants near the patio door. The Homesway employee brought over some traps which didn't work and was not pet friendly. The carpet looked run down but normal if dogs stay.
Overall we enjoyed the house stay. We usually stay for the rib cook off. We would have preferred two nights but somehow three nights fit (mandatory for the house). We usually stay at a hotel without the dog, it was nice to stay somewhere that included the dog. All of our participants enjoyed the stay versus the hotel. The surrounding area had great stores like Walmsrt Costco Starbucks etc. I give three and a half stars. Deduction for us having to kill ants three days in a row. Also, the feature of "leaving the dishes" was a very nice gesture by home away. We did most of our dishes during our stay and didn't have to worry about cleaning the dishes (Tupperware we stored our food in for leftovers) when we were packing them up in the provided baggies. Overall we would stay again. Since this is an annual trip I will be looking again next year for a house versus a hotel. Pricing was fair, Debra was friendly, and the stay had only one minor complaint.
All 7 of us had an excellent time at the property. Loads of room for everyone. Air conditioning worked fantastically in the heat. The grilling area is across from the property. Cleaned and ready to use. The pool was our own oasis. Heated to the perfect temperature. Everyone we met was friendly. We all decided we will definitely rent this property again. We swam in Lake Tahoe and went to the Shakespeare Festival. Went thrift shopping and enjoyed a buffet. A Great time had by all.
We were down for Hot August Nights, eight of us total. There was plenty of room for sleeping. The beds were comfortable. The bunk beds and toys were a great touch in one of the spare rooms. The place was clean, minus the carpet, and, had everything you could possibly need including a highchair and pack n play. The outdoor patio was a nice touch. We swam in the pool several times during our stay to beat the heat. The two car garage was perfect for our show cars. We all really enjoyed our stay at Kiley Ranch. It was a quiet area that we could relax and get away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown, and had plenty of room for our 3 kids to run off steam. It is close enough to Reno/Sparks, but also far enough away for peace and quiet. The neighborhood felt very secure.
The only downside we saw was the lack of seating in the livingroom. There was only a couch and a recliner, and for 8 people just isn't enough. We had to take turns sitting on the floor. The room was large enough to have maybe a large sectional or even just add a love seat to the area. The ice/water machine did not work on the fridge, but it still produced ice, and there was a lack of lighting in the garage and no electrical outlet to plug things in. Overall though, it was a great experience.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others! Thank You!
I grew up in Sparks and still have family there so most of the time when we visit we stay with them. However we had a big family reunion this summer and needed a place to stay. I was not looking forward to staying in one of the casino hotels - when you grow up there the last thing you want to do is be in a loud, obnoxious casino. I'm sure many tourists love that and that's what they come for, but not us. So I was excited when I found this little gem here on VRBO. It's super close to my family so location was perfect for us.
Stayed here with my husband, my two young adult sons, and my oldest son's fiance. The master suite here is amazing! The loft you see in the photos is in the master bedroom. The mast suite is HUUGE! The loft was a great place for a little office work as both my husband and I had to finish some work/business while we were there. The two other bedrooms are not huge (maybe 10x10) - one had a bunk bed set up the other a full or queen size bed. This was a perfect set up for my (gown, 20-something) kids.
The unit we stayed in appeared to be a model for the apartment/townhouse complex that it is in as it was located along the walkway next to other models. It has a 2-car garage - again awesome as we easily fit our 4runner and my son's honda accord sedan in there with no problem. The kitchen has all the utensils, pots/pans, dishes you would need, though we never cooked there as we had so many family events scheduled for the reunion.
There's also a small gym - which is practically next door. It has one treadmill, one stationary bike, and two ellipiticals. There are also 2 weight machines, but sadly no free weights (my preference). however you can get some good cardio workouts in on the machines and some upper body strength with the machines. There are also some mats and enough floor space to do stretches, yoga, or other floor workouts as needed. I would, however, suggest taking advantage of the beautiful outdoors in the area. If you don't have a lot of time, Gold Eagle Regional Park is about a 10 minute drive and if you drive past the baseball fields there are trails on the south end off the dirt road (check out Google maps satellite and you can see them). If you hike up the hill - it's about a 2 mile hike up - you get a beautiful view of the Reno Sparks area.
This was totally worth it to us. Oh, and there is also shopping close by if needed - starbucks, walmart, Ulta, some chain restaurants, and more.
