Peeking over the dunes on Oak Island’s East Beach, the Pickled Pelican provides a peaceful perch for your whole flock, including up to one dog per stay! Relax with your morning coffee as you watch for dolphins playing in the surf from the oceanfront decks and fall asleep each night with the sound of the waves providing the ultimate white noise.

Bright and airy, the open concept living area offers plenty of space for everyone to gather over meals or to relax in the evening. To the left, the dining nook is furnished with a sturdy wooden table and matching bench, along with built-in bench seat along two walls. To the right, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals during your stay, including a toaster, crock pot and blender. An additional two seats are available at the kitchen island. A half bathroom is located off this space for your convenience. After dinner, settle on the oversized sectional and pair of armchairs to watch a favorite movie on the wall-mounted TV or enjoy a cracking fire during the fall and winter months.

Every bedroom in the home is equipped with a TV for personal entertainment, so there’s never any arguing over who gets the remote! The first two bedrooms are on the lower floor, connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom which also contains a stackable washer and dryer. The back bedroom holds a queen and a double bed, while the front bedroom offers a king bed and direct deck access.

Upstairs, the front bedroom is also furnished with a king bed and provides direct access to a private upper-level oceanfront deck complete with two lounge chairs and a beverage table. Another Jack and Jill bathroom connects this room to the bunkroom, which is furnished with a double and a twin-over-double bunk bed. Just off the bunk room, a loft is furnished as a second sitting area, complete with a comfy couch and one final TV.

Outside, the lower oceanfront deck offers both open and covered sections, along with plenty of furniture. Order a classic low country boil pot or fire up the catch of the day on the provided charcoal grill and enjoy your bounty at the picnic table or while away the hours on the classic rocking chairs with a tropical drink in hand.

When you’re ready to hit the beach, the waves are only steps away from your back door, and when your adventures are done, an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water is the ultimate hack to keeping the sand out of your beach house – and your car.

Conveniently located between both of Oak Island’s bridges, explore local dining, shopping and nightlife within minutes of this beautiful home, or easily embark on a day trip to nearby Southport, Wilmington or Myrtle Beach for a wider array of experiences.

Better yet, leave the car in the driveway and walk to nearby Middleton Park for local summer concerts, craft shows, an accessible playground and a free seasonal splash pad, then stop for some of the best pizza around at Pepperoni Grill on the way home.
