Skybarn Vermont | Pool, 100-Mile Views, Historic Barn
Welcome to Skybarn! It’s a historic, modernized mountain-top barn. The 100-mile views of 3 states from the backyard are honestly unmatched. Whether you`re floating in the private pool in the summer or warming up by the fire, it`s the perfect place to disconnect.
☀ Mount Snow: 10 min
☀ Wilmington Village: 13 min
☀ Lake Raponda: 12 min
☀ Stratton Mountain Resort: 30 min
HIGHLIGHTS
☀ Unobstructed 100-mile views (3 states visible!)
☀ Private in-ground swimming pool (Summer only)
☀ Historic post-and-beam construction with soaring ceilings
☀ 2 Wood-burning stoves
☀ A `Peacock` themed Master Suite with mountain views from the bathtub
THE VIBE
The `Skybarn` strikes the perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort. I love how the exposed wooden beams contrast with the modern, open layout. There are two distinct living areas: one at the entry and one off the kitchen. Both have wood stoves with visible fires, so you can always find a cozy spot to curl up.
KITCHEN & DINING
The kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s designed for gathering, whether you are hanging out at the island, relaxing in the sitting area off the kitchen, or heading out to the deck to watch the sunrise. There’s both a drip coffee maker and a Keurig because we all know how important that morning cup is!
BEDROOMS & SLEEPING (Sleeps 8 due to ordinance limitations only)
There are 4 bedrooms, and each one has its own unique personality:
• Primary Suite (The `Peacock Room` - 2nd Floor): This is a stunner. It has a King Bed, cool artistic decor (look for the peacock!), and en-suite bathroom.
• Bedroom 2 (The `Red Room` - Main Floor): A cozy Queen Bed on the main level. Great if you want to avoid stairs.
• Bedroom 3 (Loft Right): A private Queen Bed.
• Bedroom 4 (Loft Left): A flexible room with 2 full beds.
• Bonus: There are also daybeds in the kitchen lounge and the Primary bedroom if you just want a spot to nap or read.
SPA-LIKE BATHROOMS
• Primary en-suite: This is my favorite spot in the house. It has a separate soaking tub and shower with massive windows framing the mountains. You can literally watch the clouds roll over the valley while you soak.
• The `Clawfoot` Bath: On the 2nd floor with a vintage clawfoot tub/shower combo.
• Main Floor Bath: Down the hall from the kitchen/laundry.
• Loft Bath: Shared by the loft bedrooms.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
If you are visiting in the summer, you are in for a treat. The private in-ground pool is a rare find in Vermont (unheated, open Memorial Day to Labor Day). The yard is massive and perfect for lawn games or just sitting in awe of the view of the mountains over three states. It’s especially inspiring at sunrise and sunset, trust me.
REVIEWS
I just started renting out the place, but this is not my first rodeo. Here are what some past guests at another property had to say:
“Great communication from before our trip to after, very responsive in general.“ - Heley
“Tommy was a great host and very responsive.” - Veronika
“Tommy has gone above and beyond in his offering, service, and communication.” - Greg
GUEST ACCESS
✔ Ample parking in the driveway for 5+ cars
✔ Self-check-in with your own door code
✔ You will have private access to the home and grounds to yourself. Just a heads up: I do have a few closets and specific rooms locked off for my own storage or winterization (since they aren`t heated), but they are clearly marked so you won`t be confused. The bedrooms advertised are all available to you.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
✹ 4WD/AWD is strongly recommended in winter. I would not attempt to go here in a 2-wheel drive car. The house is right off of a paved road, but it’s at the top of the hill.
✹ Expect to see local wildlife and the occasional bug. This is Vermont, after all.
✹ No smoking.
✹ Please note that upon booking, I`ll ask you to e-sign a rental agreement. By booking, you agree to complete this step immediately post booking or the reservation may be canceled.
✹ No parties or events without prior approval.
✹ PETS: The place is pet friendly! There is a pet fee. Cleaning after pets stay typically takes much longer. If the pet fee isn`t collected automatically when you book, please reach out and we can take care of it. Please clean up after your pet (outside also).
✹ The system will place an automatic `hold` on your credit card for $1,000 as a sort of damage deposit. The hold will be released a week after checkout. It will only be charged if there is any damage or excessive cleaning needed.
