“Safari Star Gazer Tent ” Glamping on our Farm

We are happy to open up our farm to let you enjoy the beauty and nature that surrounds us, away from the crowds, under the stars in complete silence, yet minutes to Carbondale. Come for a weekend getaway. We have Alpacas, Nigerian dwarf goats, and horses. We have farm tours, Alpaca Yoga and horse back riding lessons. There is a farm store where you can buy our fresh pork, eggs, Alpaca fiber and apparel. We love to give tips and suggestions for your trip that often only locals know.
The space
This is a large safari tent that offers Glamping at its best. It has king bed and a full sofa bed. There is electricity, a refrigerator, cold and hot water cooler, a french press and fresh coffee, a cozy chair and a cupboard filled with board games. You can relax on the couch out in front of the tent and gaze over the rolling horse pastures. This tent is on our private ranch , filled with horses, Heritage breeds of cows and , chickens and the cutest Alpacas ever. The ranch is backed up with hiking trails through the woods into public land. We are also a horse ranch. We offer riding experiences and have pens and stalls for visiting horses. We have a brand new bathroom tent with a nice hot shower, flushing toilet and porcelain sink. The "precious privy" is just outside your tent.
Guest access
As a guest on our ranch, you have hiking trails and ponds and access to our Stable to pet our horses. We also have Zebu Cattle, Large Black Heritage Pigs, and friendly Alpacas .We have turned half of our barn into a lodge for our guests to hang out and socialize. We still have horses on the other side of the barn for petting. Long wooden tables are perfect for games or art projects or spreading out your findings from your scavenger hunt. There is Wifi and a T.V. room at the barn and just outside your tent is our new "Precious Privy". This is a full bathroom and hot shower, and dressing room in a 10x12ft.safari tent.
Selfies are a must !Be sure and check out the pictures . If you are interested in horses , Merrill is available for lessons and farm tours. We have 110acres to enjoy.
Other things to note
We have all organic pork, beef and eggs that you can purchase for a dinner here or bring a cooler and take some home with you, it is delicious. Let us know ahead of time so we can make sure we have some available. Our beer brats are the best! We also have hats and pottery for sale in our farm store along with alpaca fiber for spinning and Alpaca apparel. Our guests love to start up the barbecue on the deck or picnic with the Alpacas with a special picnic lunch from the local Silo restaurant and just relax and enjoy our beautiful views. There are fabulous natural hot springs close by at Avalanche Ranch. The days are gorgeous in the Summer and the nights are cool so pack accordingly.
