⚠️ Good to Know: This lake home is supplied by a private well, which is common for homes and cabins in the area. Due to naturally occurring minerals in well water, you may occasionally notice a slight sulfur or “rotten egg” smell, particularly when first turning on the water. This is a natural characteristic of well water and is not an indication of an issue with the home. The water is safe for normal household use, and allowing the water to run briefly will typically help reduce the odor.



While this is a characteristic of the area’s well water, we want guests to be aware before their stay so there are no surprises. Most importantly, you can look forward to enjoying the peaceful wooded setting, beautiful lakefront views, excellent fishing, and cozy cabin atmosphere that make this property a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

❛❛ We enjoyed this cute cottage in the woods. We loved the location as it is very wooded and right on the lake. We did some fishing and had good luck. The water is on a well so there is a smell to it but it didn’t bother us too much. Overall it was perfect for us. ❜❜ (Tabitha)

IMPORTANT: Douglas Lake is experiencing unusually low water levels due to drought conditions during the 2026 season. Lake levels are significantly below normal and may impact lake access and water recreation activities.
