The space
Experience the ultimate lakeside getaway, perfect for couples, small families, and water enthusiasts. This updated vintage cottage sleeps 4, with the comfort of 1 King and 1 Queen bed. This ideal location sits 15 minutes from I-65 in Cullman, AL.

Enjoy an unobstructed lake view from the quaint, covered porch. Watch nature fly by while enjoying the slight breeze of the ceiling fan, or drop the bamboo shades for those bright sunsets. The porch provides the perfect setting to connect with nature and unwind. Laugh the night away under the solar lights that help create and make this space so dreamy.

Take a couple steps off the porch to Western views of one of the country’s most pristine lakes. Make Smores by the smokeless Solo Stove fire pit, while storytelling from the cozy Adirondak chairs. Feet away, more solar lights will lead you down the dock to stargaze and listen to….silence.

By day, the dock is your playground. An early morning premier Striped Bass fishing spot right off the dock to fulfill every fisherman’s dream. Bask on the sun deck, enjoy the shade, or jump in one of the country’s top 3 cleanest lakes. Up for an adventure? Grab the life jackets and hop into the 2-person kayak to explore our numerous sloughs/ coves along over 580 miles of shoreline that Smith Lake offers.

Work up an appetite? Retire to the grill, throw on some steaks, stream the game with our high-speed Fiber Internet, and experience the day melt into the night. Our well-equipped kitchen is sure to impress with all the extras. Wash the day away in the steam-like shower and stretch into the spacious, inviting L-shaped couch to enjoy your favorite shows on the surround sound Smart TV.

Retreat into the King sized mattress and draw the black-out curtains. Or retire to the Queen sized mattresses to dream the night away.

Our cottage has been recently updated, and we hope you love it as much as we do. Parents, we are DIRECTLY on the lake with NO obstruction between you and the lake. If you are concerned about your children running around close to the lake, I highly recommend a different property. I would not consider this property appropriate for toddlers or younger children who are not very strong swimmers. I highly recommend life jackets whenever outside and on the dock. We have professional pest control year round with additional mosquito treatments March-October.

Guest access
You will have access to the dock. We keep a boat on the boatlift. You will NOT have access to the boat or boat lift. There is room to tie your boat to the dock. There is electricity on the dock to charge your boat. Smith Lake Park and Hames Marina are the closest public ramps to launch. We have a 2-person kayak, 2 blow-up paddleboards, and some floats. You are responsible for securing these items back to their original place. If these items blow away/ float off, you will be charged for replacement.

Other things to note
There is a Solo Stove firepit out by the lake for your enjoyment. Please bring your own firewood. DO NOT EMPTY ASHES OUT INTO THE BRUSH. IT WILL START A FIRE. EVEN A DAY LATER. THIS HAS HAPPENED. A propane grill is provided on the back deck with an extra tank. Please let us know if a tank is empty so we can have it refilled. We keep the kitchen stocked with essential condiments for your convenience.

Smith Lake is a dry lake. You cannot legally have alcohol on the lake. The restaurants mentioned below do serve alcohol.
