high highs and low lows

The day before our trip, mgmnt called to say our place wouldn’t be ready until 5 due to a cleaning mixup—they misread the calendar thinking we were checking in that day. The next day we received a similar call—our place wouldn’t be ready until 430. They offered free coffee nearby but since the wait seemed short and we were arriving at 4 we decided to wait in our cars. Cleaners arrived 4:05 & we tried to reach management since it was clear the house wouldn’t be ready by 430 but we never heard back. The cleaners finished at 5 & by then the kids were hungry/tired from skiing, while we were frustrated by the delay. We had stored our food in the snow to keep it from spoiling.The house itself is nice, but note noise carries wildly. If you have kids sleeping in the loft expect to go to bed when they do. We were in the downstairs living room, whispering with the TV at vol 3 but they could hear us clearly from upstairs.The grill is connected to a gas line but mgmnt didn’t know how to turn it on when we couldn’t figure it out (we eventually did).This house is great for large groups but NOT if the sleeping/noise situation matters or if you need to arrive at 4 as that seems to be a recurring issue. We don’t blame the cleaners—it’s clear the management needs to hire more staff. We requested a late checkout to make up for the hour we lost but despite assurances we never got a response. Overall, the experience was frustrating, and I won’t be staying w/this mgmnt company again.

Great property

The house is very new and spacious with living quarters on the 3rd floor. Bedrooms on the 2nd floor & entrance and garage on first floor. One of our group had a bad knee and was fortunate to use the elevator. Well equipped kitchen. The upper deck had a hot tub and grill. And spectacular views of the runs at Winter Park. We enjoyed our stay! The elevator was the deciding factor in our booking and was a great asset.

Public Service Announcement

House is beautiful and management kept it clean. MAJOR ISSUE. House has no curtains or window coverings, and I mean NONE. So this became a major issue because the master bedroom and living room windows are West facing and from the hours of 5pm until around 7:30pm the living room and bedroom are completely unusable. The sun glaring down on you is brutal in those rooms. On top of that, at night, the master bedroom without window coverings made sleeping a challenge. Lights from neighboring houses, and the super beautiful and bright moon had me waking up at all hours thinking it was already morning. Sitting in the living room at night, again without coverings and lights on, made us feel unsafe with a moderately trafficked dirt road behind. Felt creepy. We ended up sleeping in another small bedroom (without TV) because there was just a single 10 ft tall window that we were able to cover with pillows. Finally, when I contacted the management company about the issue they responded that they'll be sure to pass my comments along. Nothing else, no apologies, no explanation, NOTHING. They don't care but you should know this before staying here. I'm going to file a complaint with VRBO. I don't know about other people but a house without window coverings feels a bit primitive, particularly for the $3,600 I spent for two of us to enjoy four nights.
