Great upscale condo in Kaanapali

Couldn't ask for a more efficient check in and parking experience. The lobby, grounds, poolside restaurant (Dukes) made the stay like a 5 star hotel. The condo is pristine, modern and has a beautiful sunrise and sunset view from large balcony. We felt at home right away. The beds were very comfortable. Great location for restaurants and activities near Lahaina and Kanapali. Would definitely recommend!!

Excellent location & beautiful condo

We loved our stay in this roomy condo - well-stocked and so comfortable. When we come to Kaanapali again we will try to stay here again! Room is on 'quiet' side of building with bonus view of hillside for morning coffee on the lanai

Beautiful place!

Hokulani 612 is a fabulous room in a very nice facility! We loved seeing both the mountains and the ocean from our balcony. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were happy to find binoculars available and enjoyed watching for whales! We liked being close to the beach and used the provided beach chairs frequently! The only problem was that we couldn't stay longer! We hope to return someday!

Perfect Home Base

This was a perfect home base for our family trip to Maui. Close to shops and food trucks, a beautiful ocean view. Super responsive communication. Beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, and even a soft-sided cooler were provided. Will definitely stay again next time we are in Maui!

Great location, resort and condo!

We stayed in the Honua Kai resort the first week in October. We were stunned at the beauty of the resort and pools. Also, the resort is on a beautiful white sand beach. The room was furniture nicely. Kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable and very clean! And the location in Lahaina cannot be beat. We were close to everything! We have already recommended Honau Kai to our friends for their trip!

This was exactly as presented online - very nice floor plan, gorgeous views, a nice size lanai, and well equipped kitchen. The only thing missing was additional wash cloths and kitchen cloths and towels.

Great choice for vacation rental

Great choice for six of us to enjoy our Maui vacation. We had a nice view of the ocean and watched the whales from our balcony (w/binoculars). We loved that the beach wasn't very crowded and enjoyed relaxing at the pools. The rooms were clean and well supplied. We were very pleased with Maui Westside Properties. When we had any questions or issues, they were easy to get ahold of and always made sure things were taken care of ASAP. I would highly recommend staying here and hope we can make another trip in the future!

Nice place with a few small glitches

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice apt with all necessary amenities. Nice side ocean view. We got the construction discount but noise was a factor and made the patio less enjoyable. Ordered twin beds as an option but got a queen -- teen age bros and sister had to sleep together. A/c in one room but couldn't get others to work. Fan in one not operating. Couldn't sleep!

Sorry the guest could not operate the AC. We encourage our guests to notify us immediately of any issues in the condo. Had the guest notified us, we would have been able to instruct them in the proper use of the AC and ceiling fans or had any issues addressed. In order for the AC to operate the Lanai doors must be closed. Guest had Lanai doors in Master Bedroom open at night. Ceiling fans are operated from wall switches but from time to time guests will instead pull the chain from the fan changing the maximum speed or turning the fan off. A simple fix had we been notified.

Great unit with ocean view from lanai.

Unit had a great location within the condo complex. It had an ocean view from the lanai and it was on the quieter, non-pool side, which is also a plus. The unit has 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms plus a full kitchen. The condo complex as a whole is great for families. It has 2 beautiful pools and plenty of chairs. The on premise grills are a pleasure to use and save a lot of money. There is an excellent local market, Times, less than one-half mile from the condo complex. The only minor quibbles with this unit is that the water heater is a bit slow to recover if several people take showers one after the other. Also the kitchen utensils, although adequate, could be expanded and upgraded. We shop at the local markets for food and do cooking in the unit so most people would be satisfied with the kitchen equipment provided.

Beautiful place. The resort has a very nice pool and you can spend days just touring the facility and the nearby beach. Room 612 is very nice and has pretty much all of the amenities that you need. Granite countertops and nice bathrooms etc. fully stocked kitchen. I would suggest that they put ketchup packets and mustard packets and things like that in the fridge for convenience. pull out bed has a nice mattress. A few complaints: We were only able to get air conditioning in one of the bedrooms. It got really hot in the other bedroom and that impacted sleep. We got a discount for the adjacent construction but be advised that this does make it difficult to enjoy yourself out on the patio. Constant beeping and clanging. We ordered two twin beds instead of one queen but never received it.

We are glad the guest had a good time but sorry they could not get the AC working in one of the rooms. Had they contacted us we could have had this issue addressed immediately so they would have enjoyed their stay fully. The AC will not operate if the Lanai doors are open and this was possibly the issue.

A little worn....

We have stayed in the Honua Kai resort since it opened and this was our 5th stay. We were disappointed with several things... 1. The main pool was closed due to tiles falling off. During our 5 day stay no one was working on the pool. Even though Westside property said 3 other pools are open, those pools do not compare to the main pool. They are small and crowded. 2. The property is getting worn. We noticed tears in the hallway carpet, there were stains on the fabric headboard in this unit and the linens (bed covers) were still the original ones and stitching was coming unraveled. 3. The cloths dryer takes a very long time to partially dry the cloths. 4. The hot water heater in this unit is VERY small. we ran out of hot water with only 4 adults staying in the unit often. We really like staying at this resort but will probably chose another option on Maui as it is clear that they have not invested in keeping these units in top notch condition (what you would expect for this price point)

We are sorry this guest did not enjoy her stay fully. The fact that the Hokulani Pool was closed was fully disclosed to the guest prior to arrival. The comments about the property getting a bit worn were accurate but the pool has since reopened and new carpeting has been ordered for the hallways. All lobby furnishings have been replaced and Honua kai is now going through a complete overhaul of the common areas and will be as sparking and lovely as before. Maui Westside Properties takes great pride in the condition of our condos and welcome all constructive comments.

Great Stay in West Maui

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the property and the location was great. We were greeted in the lobby and shown the apartment which was a nice touch. We spent most of our time out doing activities but enjoyed having the view and amenities of this property when we returned. The condo worked great for our family of two adults and our 17 year old daughter. We went to the local grocery store to buy food for breakfast and late afternoon cocktails and snack. You could eat all of your meals at the condo and use the grills of the resort we just chose to eat out lunch and dinner. The condo was appointed well and we enjoyed using the beach chairs and water floats during our stay. We ate at Dukes two nights and enjoyed good food and a great location. We booked this rental and confirmed in advance regarding the construction next door at the Westin. I was told they were only working on landscaping which was not a true statement. The noise and disruption from the construction was less of an issue for us as we were out enjoying sights and activities of Maui during the day. Overall, the condo is very nice. Note, included in the cost is a cleaning charge but there was mold in the shower which was most likely from poor cleaning service. The property is nice and well appointed and if you are out enjoying Maui the construction was not a major issue but does create dust.

We are glad the guests enjoyed their stay. This property faces the Westin construction site and keeping the interiors clean during the 2 year construction process has been a challenge. Construction is finally wrapping up and is scheduled to be completed by September. Only the final landscaping remains. The condos are cleaned and inspected prior to each guests arrival as was this condo. No mold was found in either of the showers either before the guest check in or after.

Love the Property and condo

Beautiful property and condo. The kids loved the property. The condo was very clean and had beach chairs and boards. We had evening dinners in the balcony and at Dukes. It is very close to Whalers village. Everything was great!!

Amazing stay!

We had an incredible stay! The suite was well appointed and had everything we needed. Check in was a breeze and communication was great. Our flight was delayed and they even accommodated a late check out. We will be back again!
