My family was fortunate to stay in 2 units in this building! Tiffany is a very accommodating host and has provided clean, safe, very reasonably priced units in the awesome Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. It's on a quiet, tree-lined street, close to hundreds of great restaurants and shops on 9th Ave and about a 5 minute walk (10 minutes toward the end of the week because we were so exhausted from seeing so much!!!) to the 50th St. C&E train station, which goes uptown along the west edge of Central Park, or downtown all the way to the 9/11 Memorial.
Every time we travel, we expect to have glitches, and this was no exception. Through no fault of the owner's the DirecTV signal was lost, so there was no TV(DirecTV has very slow response times for repair). But, I always bring an HDMI cable and my laptop, so we vegged at night with some Netflix! (We didn't go to New York to watch TV anyway.) The owner was very accessible through texting, and once, when we lost the wifi signal, she connected us to a new router in 5 minutes! Her properties are all in the same building, this beautiful old brown stone with tons of character that made us feel like resident New Yorkers! It's such a safe neighborhood with people coming and going at all times of the day and night. We always felt at ease with our fellow sidewalk pounders! We got cupcakes at Amy's Bread, had an incredible Lebanese meal at Gazala Place (I recommend the chicken kebabs with the tihini), gorged ourselves on the "$1 per slice" pizza at the "$1 per slice" pizza place, had two great lunches at Uncle Mario's (this pizza will knock you out), got incredible produce at the Amish Market, got our Ben and Jerry's Phish Food every night from the Hudson Market, found foot ailment products at the Duane Reade (Walgreens)
We used Uber to get from Laguardia (and to return 6 days later). Wonderful experiences. And very reasonable. Coming in: $49. Going back: $42 (difference is in the traffic).
Thanks, so much, Tiffany, for the most fantastic birthday experience we've ever had! We hope to come back again next year.
The studio apartment is very comfortable and the location is fantastic. However i would consider providing TWO rolls of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels for the kitchen. To skimp on some thing like TP seems a little silly. I also don't understand what the tip jar is for? Is that for the owner of the unit or the person who cleaned it before we got there and cleaned it after we left? there was not a daily cleaning service which of course i didn't expect, but i haven't seen a tip jar before.
My wife and I stayed here as part of anniversary trip and enjoyed our stay. The apartment is large for NY standards as well as nicely updated. If your looking for a place that is centrally located to many of Manhattan's sought after locations like Times Square, Central Park and Empire State building, then this is your place. Many excellent eateries right around the corner in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.
Communication with the owner was frequent which made check in easy. My wife and I have used VRBO over 10 times and would put this apartment near the upper half of places that we have stayed. My only recommendation for the property would be to have maps of the city, a few restaurant flyers, more cooking utensils and maybe a guest book! Now, most of this information through the Homeaway app, but some people just like to reference and old fashioned map versus walking down busy streets with their phone in their face!
I will stay here next time that we are in NY!
I was very pleased with TJ's apartment in Hells Kitchen - VERY centrally located within easy walking distance to the USS Intrepid & Museum, Times Square, the Theater district, various MTA stops as well as very good choices for dining - breakfast, lunch, or dinner - in any direction one chooses. The apartment was well appointed (full kitchen, furniture, TV with satellite, high-speed internet), the bathroom was clean, and - the best part - a well functioning AC (my visit coincided with a very hot and humid weekend in NYC). I very much recommend this rental and plan to rebook on my next visit back to NYC!
We had originally booked a hotel room in New Jersey to try to cut costs. I was traveling with my 85 year old mom and two teenage sons. I thought traveling between NJ and NYC would be a hassle. Someone told me to try VRBO and I'm glad I did. I found this apartment and thought it looked nice so I booked it. It was a little more expensive than the hotel room, but I figured we'd save on cab fare (which we did). It was nice to have more room than a hotel room so that we could spread out a little bit. The apartment is so conveniently located. My sons & I were able to walk to the sights we wanted to see. We only took a cab when we took my mom along. The apartment is very clean. Lots of restaurants in the immediate area. our flight landed early and Tiffany let us go in the apartment and drop off our luggage so that we could go get lunch. The bathroom is small, but I'm sure it is what is normal for NYC apartments. That was our only "complaint" if you could even call it a complaint.
My husband and I visited New York City for the first time and decided to try VRBO. We found Tiffany to be prompt and thorough with her replies and the information provided to us. We had no trouble accessing the apartment. It was exactly as per the pictures with no surprises. It was clean and spacious and we had a very comfortable stay. It was an easy walk to all the main must-see sights like Times Square, Central Park and Fifth Ave and the subway was easily accessible. We would highly recommend staying here!
Die Wohnung ist zentral gelegen und ist nur wenige Gehminuten vom Central Park, Broadway, Times Square, Lincoln Center, Restaurants ,. In der Mitte von allem!
