Although its location makes Playa Hermosa feel somewhat isolated, the small but well-developed town offers many amenities. Playa Hermosa, which translates to Beautiful Beach, is located in northern Guanacaste Province. Keep in mind that Costa Rica has several beaches named Playa Hermosa, including near Jaco, Santa Teresa, and Uvita, but the one where this lovely home is located is in Guanacaste. The Liberia International is the closest airport, at about 30 minutes away.

Situated on a hillside in the secure, gated community of Hermosa Heights, Casa de la Paz is the place to create your Costa Rican vacation memories. As nature abounds in our healthy ecosystem,  it is not unusual to hear the call of the howler monkeys early in the morning, find an iguana sunning itself on the rocky hillside, or see a flock of brightly colored birds flying by. Each evening, you will be treated to the breathtaking show of yet another beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean. And in the hours between sunrise and sunset, you can explore the nearby beach town of Playas del Coco, wander the Blue Flag Beach of Playa Hermosa, go on a zip-lining adventure, take a boat ride with a local or just relax on the terrace of Casa de la Paz and enjoy the “Pura Vida” lifestyle of Costa Rica. Completed late 2018, this contemporary home takes advantage of the stunning views of the Pacific and the Gulf of Papagayo from every room. The beauty of Casa de la Paz is in the simplicity of its design. The indoor and outdoor living spaces flow seamlessly from one to the other with a large wall of glass sliding doors. The outdoor lounge and dining spaces are covered so that you can relax shaded from the intense tropical sun. In the evening, enjoy the cool ocean breezes as you dine al fresco on the terrace or relax in the great room with friends and family.

The cabinetry and furniture were sourced locally and handcrafted using local and sustainable hardwoods. The growing art collection focuses on works by Costa Rican artists and craftsmen.

This 4 bedroom, 4 ½ bath home comfortably sleeps 8 with a combination of king, queen and twin bed options. There are two bedrooms on each floor, each with expansive views and a private bath. From the main floor bedrooms, the infinity edge pool is only a few steps away out a sliding glass door. There’s even an outdoor shower off the main floor master bedroom.
