We loved the deck over looking the river! The kitchen with the huge island was great too. There was not much furniture in the living space however, so it was hard for our entire group to relax and chat together as we anticipated.

Nice creek view from the kitchen and family room. Very quite and cozy place to relax. (It is recommended not over 4 people.) It might be good if you visit here for canoeing.Still it has room for improvement. Mattresses are not in good shape. Floors are squeaking all over. (If you wake up in the middle of the night and gotta go, then, all other families will hear your foot steps.)

Overall, a great stay!

Overall, this was a great place to stay! A couple of things to improve - overall cleanliness- trash left under the coffee table, trash and food left under the sofa bed, old coffee grinds left in the coffee pot, no kitchen paper and no laundry soap. The shower curtain was moldy and so we washed it, and I don’t think the washer had been run in a while, and so the water had a sulphuric smell to it. Little things, but little things make a difference! Fantastic location, quiet, easy to get to places! I would stay there again!

Rustic and Peaceful

I have stayed here twice now with my kids while visiting my mom. Both times we have stayed in the Villa. I like rustic, and to me this is the perfect combination of rustic and practical modern. It very much has a cabin feel with its gorgeous wood, but also has great AC, Sat TV, WiFi, and a very well equipped kitchen. The master bedroom is huge and very comfortable. The second bedroom is ideal for kids. Having 2 bathrooms was great and they were more than adequate. The deck and the view off of it is just magnificent. Deer frequently walk by and I’m pretty sure I saw an eagle. I loved the almost secret road/path to get back to the place. Yes the floors creak. We just tried to not be walking all around after 11pm out of respect for the people below us. The WiFi is ok. If you’re traveling with young adults/teens like myself, you may have some complainers. However our cell service was great there and they were able to just use data and hush. The one thing I would love to see change is the access to the river. We love to fish. We did fish there and caught a handful of sunfish but it was a challenge. The bank was steep and there was a lot of vegetation prohibiting us from even getting to the edge. In teen terms, we had to “yeet” the fish over the bank and vegetation. Good thing they were small. Overall, if you’re looking for a peaceful, rustic place to stay, without giving up modern conveniences, this is it. I would stay here again.

Not a Villa

The property title is listed as a Villa with majestic views. The definition of Villa: a country estate. : a large expensive house usually located in the country. Based on the title I never read the description fully, so in my opinion this is very misleading. There are a total of 3 units in this house, the other 2 units are listed as studios, not a Villa. The front door to the property has a keypad entry and if this door isn’t locked by others staying in the house when they leave it remains unlocked allowing access from anyone. The door to the “Villa” was not an entry door or even as secure as a true interior door. You could see into the unit when standing outside the door when it is closed. A good hard push on this door and you would be in the unit. If you wanted to use the grill you would need to go downstairs to the other units patio area, the fire pit is the same way. The floors are extremely noisy, and even upstairs we could hear the people downstairs. We were never able to get the TV to work. I felt so bad just walking in the area we were staying because of the people in the downstairs units. He had a sleeper sofa that was listed as sleeps 2 comfortable. When we opened it there was so much debris and rodent droppings it was sickening. Even underneath this couch hadn’t been cleaned in forever, there was debris and rodent droppings. I did call him when we found this and sent him pictures. Once I was home, I sent him a lengthier email and his re

Wonderful for a weekend getaway

We had a great experience at the property with everything pretty much covered by the host. The ONLY thing we did not like was the creaky floors (as others have mentioned) that may have disturbed the guests below us but we understand that is not an easy fix. Highly recommend this property.

Great Frederick Stay!

Other family members ended up renting the other 2 units, as we were all in town for a wedding. This worked out perfectly, as we all had our individual spaces, but could also gather together on the deck and the main living space in our unit. The house was very clean and well equipped. We had a beautiful view of the river. The house is situated off a quiet street among a group of a few other houses, but is very close to stores and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again if we return to Frederick!

Nice, clean place, centrally located

The property was very clean and supplied everything we needed, right down to shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The space was tight for a family of 5- no place, other than outdoors, to all sit and eat together, or play games, etc. The other renters commandeered the fire pit before we arrived and left their chairs etc there the entire time, so we didn’t get to enjoy that. The bank to get down to the river was steep. We did enter our kayaks down the bank once into the river, but getting them out there would have been very difficult. (We kayaked down to Buckeystown Park) However, if you plan to just sleep at the house, it was a nice place (minus the very squeaky floors). It is centrally located to many eating and shopping places and close to many river access points and parks.

Lovely stay on the river

We enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was clean and comfortable with modern amenities but a cabin feel. The house has a beautiful view of the river and the location was great; the kids enjoyed running around in the large yard, the state and national parks are only 30 minutes away, and the battlefield is right across the river. The outdoor deck was very nice but it was too cold to use it during our stay. The beds were comfortable, the heat worked well, and it was nice to have sheets, towels, hand soap, dish soap, TP, and paper towels all provided. The kitchen works fine for minimal cooking but you’ll need to bring your own pots, pans, etc if you plan on doing much more than that. The outdoor fire circle and grill were much appreciated (just be sure to bring your own firewood, charcoal, and matches). Internet is a little slow for video calls, but it was nice to have the wi-fi available. All in all, it was a lovely weekend away!

Don't trust this listing manager

This was a weekend for me and my daughters to get away and have a party celebration of many things to celebrate in 2020. Nowhere in the listing did Joe say anything about 11 PM curfew (not cerfew Joe). We went to have a party and enjoy. At 12 AM we were up talking and laughing. The floors squeak so much so any movement was felt below. We remained in our unit the whole time. Sure we were talking and laughing and I am sure the non insulated units carried any noise. But let me add at this time we were not playing music, we were reminiscing about some pets we had to say goodbye to and the silly things they did to make us laugh - all the while laughing. I get a text from Joe Bartlett that the people below us were complaining about too much noise. He then states that the listing mentioned an 11 PM noise curfew. We went to the sight and our paperwork and nowhere in either of those places did it say anything about an 11 PM noise ordinance. In fact for the next 45 minutes my daughter kept refreshing the VRBO sight and that is when the owner/landlord changed the rules. If we knew ahead of time that this was the case we would not have stayed at this place, we were going out of town to have a fun fun fun weekend - thanks for raining on our time. I paid a lot of money for us to get away and have a BLAST only to be chastised right when it was FUN. Also the kitchen is not fully stocked - we had to buy a decent sized frying pan to make breakfast. The only cups in the place were the juice ones and maybe invest in something more than a $10 coffee maker. I will never book at this place ever again and I have learned my lesson I will be asking the owners of VRBO houses to give me any house rules they may have. We would not have stayed at this house had Joe Bartlett tell us ahead of time we had to go to bed at 11PM. I can provide timestamped screen shots to show how Joe Bartlett manipulated the listing on here to make it seem like the 11 PM noise ordinance was there all the time. BS!!! Peace and Quiet

Very pleasant location with wonderful river views. This property was well appointed and close to everything we needed. Any questions I had were quickly answered by the property owner, making our stay seem less and relaxing.
