Wonderful Canadian Retreat on the Lake

We loved our stay here. The neighborhood was quiet, the lake was beautiful and the pictures don’t do the view justice! The nearby town was so charming we were there in the off-season and still loved it. We will be coming back again soon!

Perfectly relaxing

The property was exactly as advertised! The house was stylish and accommodating. The view from inside and on the deck were next level. We enjoyed swimming in the clear, sandy bottom water right from the stairs. Not to far to travel to Niagara Falls or Toronto. The town of Port Dover has just the right amount of restaurants and shopping without too much of the touristy feel.

Stunning views and fantastic patio with plenty of space and furniture for relaxing. Very quiet and easy to find. Everything you need for cooking in the kitchen. Lakefront, but the steps down were a lot for two seniors with bad knees. Although, it didn’t stop us from venturing down. Nice to hear the waves lapping on the shore.

Cottage on the Lake

We loved our stay here! The property itself was beautiful and the views stunning! The kitchen had everything you needed, and it was great we didn't need to bring sheets, pillows or towels. Found a little private beach down the road where we swam every day. Made trips into town for dinner and strolled around. Would explore more next time.We did not want to leave. Wonderful Wintery Long Weekend Getaway!

The Modern Cottage was the perfect place to spend a long weekend getaway together! The property was better than anticipated, with expansive windows and glass doors to take in the stunning lake views and beautiful snowfalls. We were looking for a quiet and comfortable lakeside cottage to spend an anniversary weekend, and this place was everything we hoped for and so much more! Such a charming, updated home, very clean and well supplied, with all modern conveniences. Cozy but spacious interior, and fabulous outdoor space with BBQ, firepit, lounge area and a table for fresh air dining. The best part is definitely the breathtaking view overlooking Lake Erie!! Beyond stunning, and so good for the soul!The Port Dover area has lots to do and see. We were able to enjoy several local restaurants (of which there are many to choose), as well as some short drives to roadside markets and wineries/breweries. We visited Turkey Point and Long Point, and the nearby town of Simcoe, where we were happy to find a food truck selling mini gourmet cheesecakes!The cottage owners were extremely kind and responsive. We were provided with lots of information and an easy check-in/check-out process. We were thrilled with our getaway here, and can't wait to return!

Just perfect for us!

This little cottage was just perfect for the two of us. It is clean and has all the basic necessities needed for a comfortable stay. The views of the lake are absolute perfection. Is is easy to find and park and it's in a great location in a super cute little town! My husband had a note to Marnie: We loved your place on Lake Erie. Absolutely beautiful - and a turntable with the Beatles white album?? An incredible touch. Next time I'm bringing a couple of my favorites and leaving them for your collection. - John. Surrounded by Beauty

This cottage in its setting is definitely among the more beautiful spots that we have stayed on our travels since retiring 10 years ago. The cottage itself is functional, comfortable, beautifully maintained and very well equipped. It was a delight to prepare meals in the up-to-date kitchen with a spectacular view, a view which is shared by the dining and living rooms! We loved our stay here and our hosts were very responsive.

Above Expectations!

Absolutely amazing property! It's rare that VRBO listings are better in real life but this one was. The views were incredible, the cottage was clean and had everything (plus more) that I needed, the fire pit (and wood that was provided) made for some cozy nights by the fire, and the outdoor patio set and umbrellas were perfect for relaxing. The owner was very accommodating and super helpful! I will definitely be back for another wonderful, stress-free vacation again!

Great Lake views cottage

This is my second time to Marnie’s cottage. Great decor, furniture and those views are the best to wake up to. We used the fire pit each night and the kitchen has everything you need. Only item missing was a blow dryer but I brought my own. Bring your bike as it is around a 2km bike ride into town and the frisky beaver is less than 2km away. That was a lot of fun. We hope to make this an annual trip.

lovely cottage great views could use some basics on arrival ie milk splenda etc. tv’s need written instructions with list of available channels . never did figure out. outdoor lights on porch missing so dangerous when leaving cottage to deck. The steps down to deck from livingroom dangerous. They are not to code too narrow
