We enjoyed our stay in Casita A. It's a beautiful property and the common areas made us feel at home. We utilized outdoor dining/kitchen and sitting areas as well as hot tub. Our dog was welcomed and enjoyed the outdoor space, too.Hosts we're awesome and attentive to any concerns.

This was the perfect stay. The grounds were quiet, the casita was clean and had everything needed for a simple stay. The amenities such as the pool and hot tub were also clean, so much space for amazing relaxation and seeing myrtle the turtle was an amazing sight to see! Amazing quiet retreat but still close enough to center of city!

Everything was exactly as described and had a nice cozy feel. Quiet place with gorgeous views and right off of the Tanque Verde wash walking/biking paths. Hot tub was great after a long hike. Very functional kitchen made cooking during my stay great. Owners were very easy to get a hold of for any questions. Excited to book again next year!

Perfect

We love the Casita, we stayed in A. It was perfect for having our two small dogs a little gated yard that we could sit down with them and they could do their business and sniff around. Bed was very comfortable. House was very clean thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub each night. We plan on booking the Casita again next year on our annual Tucson trip. The caretaker was quick to respond to any text or question I had.

Chill :3)

An amazing chill spot in a neighborhood that you can tell the residents love. Very quiet with beautiful bird song and so close to dog friendly paths by the arroyo yet accessible to fantastic restaurants where our fur baby was welcome. We felt like we’d been away from reality over a month even tho it was a short weekend. Just what our fried brains needed along with some great Micheladas!!

This is a lovely property. There was initially difficulty getting check in information. I needed to call the listing agent to explain my concerns. They gave me a phone number to contact the owner directly. The owner responded promptly and the instructions. All further communication was perfect. He even brought a hairdryer that was missing from the property. As for the property, it’s beautiful. As noted in the listing, it had a communal outdoor kitchen, hot and gym. This unit ( Casita A) has a private covered outdoor sitting area. Perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktail. The property was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable and the shower was wonderful.

Home away from home 10/10

Horse Thief Ranch was a perfect place to stay. We stayed in Casita A and it had everything we were looking for and more. It was a perfect homebase and central to a lot of the hiking around the area. Shower was amazing, coffee maker was instant, and the bed was so comfy. Also can't beat the mountain view from the bedroom. Kendra (owner) was fantastic with communication and we felt safe the entire time. The hot tub was so amazing after hiking all day. This location does have other rental units so at times we had to share the community items (hot tub, exercise equipment), but it was never a problem. Would stay here again and will be suggesting it to others who come to Tucson.

Hidden Gem I Would Go Back to Everytime! Far better than staying in Tucson proper

I was sincerely shocked at how nice and peaceful my stay was at this property and I am soooooooo happy I picked a place on the edge of Tucson than in city proper (I stayed in city proper later and hated it). Each casita has its own private outdoor space, which as a traveler with dogs was so nice for the puppies. And the shared outdoor area is absolutely incredible. I got to cook dinner on the grill, sit in the sun and read, or relax in the hot tub at night when things cooled off.Plus the National Park, Sabino Canyon and the scenic drive to Summerville are all a quick 10-15 drive away. If you want to get into Tucson the foothills are right near by with tons of great dining options. The other things that was simply wonderful is having the giant nature preserve just steps away. But if you didn't want to go to the nature preserve, just walking and/or biking around the giant, well lit, safe neighborhood is just as nice. Nevermind nearby there are all kinds of cute farm animals to say hi to along the way. Despite having adjacent visitors, the properties all have great sound privacy and everyone is happy to be there and very friendly. The grounds are beautiful and have some really beautiful artwork/sculptures.THIS is the place you want to stay if you are visiting Tucson because you get the best of everything and a wonderful place to relax, unwind, take in the stars at night.

Tucson casita A Horse Thief Ranch

Location and access to local stores and restaurants was good. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to walking trail. Outside sitting furniture needs cleaning and repair/replacement, hot tubs dirty and in need of updating. Kitchen, living room and bedroom lights flickered constantly, kitchen lighting dim, hard to see. Used toaster and lights dimmed. Carpet was very worn, couch dirty, sagging, needs to be replaced. Bathroom floor dirty, smelled like animal feces, the whole place had a strong animal odor. Removed mattress pad, too dirty to sleep on. Quilt was torn. WiFi and dish tv were spotty at best, worse during rain showers. No instructions on how to use tv remotes, had to call host and have her talk us through resetting system. Would not recommend for the price.

Hi Virginia, the homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing a 5-star guest experience and would like to clarify the following: - Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and we are glad you liked the location of our property as much as we do - We are concerned with your review as we consider our property to be a destination retreat for guests - We have a very responsive guest contact, and none of the areas you mentioned in your review were spoken of when you reached out about the TV controls - Had you spoken with us about your issues, we would have immediately addressed them, as we care for our guests and their complete experience We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Tucson delight

Loved Horse Thief Ranch and the casitas. Had our own space and enjoyed coming together in main house. Everything was provided and walking trail nearby was appreciated. Enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, use of bicycles. Close to stores. Would come back again!

Loved our stay at Horse Thief Ranch

Kendra and Keith are genuine, amazing, and made our stay at the Ranch memorable. The facility is homey, authentic, restful, clean, and offers an unforgettable experience. Kendra met us at the entrance and instantly made us feel at home. Keith took every opportunity to chat and show us around. Plus he was super friendly with our dog Rowdy. The place was exactly as advertised and we will make every opportunity to join them again when we can.

Anniversary Surprise!!

WOW - this place was absolutely stunning. I booked this property last minute, almost, to surprise my husband on our recent anniversary. It worked out BEAUTIFULLY!! The GH casita here at Catalina Foothills in Tuscon was very well put together. The spa tub and shower was AMAZING!! The bed was super comfortable and honestly the whole place was clean and welcoming with a well thought out design and an interior aspect that was extremely inviting. THANK YOU!!

It was okay. The inside was too small for a family of 4. It would be better for maybe two people.

It was okay. The outside was great for my dog. It was just too small inside for a family of 4. There were some pillow and towels missing. The porch bushes were over grown. The owners were nice and very helpful. The location was great.
