Wonderful place!
Anchor Shores is a great place to go for complete relaxation and some great fishing. The house was perfect for us and another couple .This is a brand new build and its fresh and super clean. The beds are so comfy! The huge king bed and the bunk beds both are exceptionally comfortable. There's a nice large closet in the main bedroom but there's also a smaller one in the bunk bed room. Lots of little hand crafted touches have been added in the home. Hand crafted wooden island for eating and the cutest little shelves in the bedroom. The kitchen and living area were open and airy. Gourmet cooks, this is the perfect place for you. Such a pleasure for us to cook and eat together. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, a block of knives, just everything you could possibly want or need has been thought of. Full size fridge, beautiful full size range, nice size pantry and drawers galore for your larder which, by the way, you need to pick up on the way. There's an HEB in Bay City, the closest town to the beach. Call your order in before you go and just pop by to pick up. You can pamper yourself in the spacious rain shower which is gorgeous; complete with teak stool for having a spa evening. There were plenty of soft towels and washcloths. And-bonus!-a washer and dryer. This place just has all the extras! There are tons of restaurants and stores in Bay City if you want to eat out or go shopping . It's about 30 minutes away. There are several bait stores in the area but the one closest is open all week whereas others are not. They are cash only. The house has a beautiful covered (very important as all Texans know) deck with handmade chairs and built ins. Beautiful view of the water with no obstacles. This is a fun place to bring your ATV to explore the extensive beach. It goes on as far as you can see. And no one was there when we were there during the week. Very nice. Go down about a mile NE for getting in the water if the surf is high and up against the granite blocks set deep in the ground. Otherwise, there's beach right there- sometimes as much as 12 yards out. Your own private little beach. When we were there, the waves looked suitable for surfing but check before you go. A lovely, quiet neighborhood that is peaceful and quiet- I didn't hear a single race car or loud thumping music , which was getting so bad at other beaches further up north we just quit going. The great thing is you don't have to pay for a monster house as is the norm on most beach rentals. Super reasonable and makes the perfect spot for up to 6 guests. ( Futons add the +2).
I'm definitely going to recommend Anchor Shores to everyone I know and I'll be returning in the years to come. Just a note: I have traveled all over the United States and Canada and I don't believe I've ever encountered nicer people at the property management company, Top Water. Brittany was exceptionally helpful and all information was promptly sent and everything very organized. I wish everyone was like them. Good job, Top Water.
