Excellent location and perfect for kids, with close access to the Zoo and Green Lake nearby, and only 15 mins by car to downtown. Rhonda is also an excellent host - we had asked for the pack and play to be set up since we were arriving late. I've asked that at other places only to be disappointed on arrival, but not here. The house is great for kids - a small yard out back, plenty of toys, and cable with a plan that includes the kid’s shows (Nick Jr and Disney Jr). We were very grateful there was a stroller (two actually) which kept us from having to lug one along.
This is also a great house for foodies. When we travel, we like to cook and this place had everything we needed. In addition to a gas stove (major plus in my book) and most every possible utensil, this place also had a quality set of knifes and honing steel. At most places, I'm grateful if the knives don't have tips that look like they were used to pry open a can, let alone sharp. A side note - if you stay here on Sunday, check out the Ballard Farmer's Market.
I will agree with some of the other reviews that the skylights are bright. They are, quite literally crafted in the style of a Fresnel lens, to maximize the light, which I believe are an asset in the rainy season. For our little one, it was difficult to nap through, but easily solved with some painters tape and tin foil. After all, we needed the foil to cook our fresh fish from the market.
I would definitely recommend this house for a small family and hope to come back soon and stay again.
