The cabin itself is beautiful, spacious, and has all the premium amenities to make for a memorable family vaction, which is why we chose to pay a premium for this property.Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a ceiling leak during a storm that soaked my laptop, our baby monitor, my wife’s purse, and both sets of our car keys. The lights in the same bedroom were also flickering while water was coming through the ceiling, which was concerning. The host initially replied, “I have received the photos and will check on this and get back to you shortly.” That follow-up never came. A few days later they asked if “our team” could stop by, so we cut our Dollywood day short assuming it was to address the leak/assess belongings. Instead, they sent prospective buyers wanting to tour the cabin, while I had two toddlers napping. After I expressed my frustration, they again replied, “I will check and get back to you on this shortly.” Again, no follow-up.The host was responsive when I reached out, but failed to follow through on commitments they made themselves. It felt like selling the property had become a higher priority than hosting paying guests. The internet was also unreliable, making the theater room difficult to enjoy because of constant buffering.Issues can happen, especially during severe weather. What matters is how they’re handled. For the price we paid, I expected better communication, greater transparency, and a host who follows through.
