Your review was very welcomed: the decking around the pool is a constant source of maintenance, between guests my pool girl goes around all of the pools we have and knocks down the nails she sees. The disadvantage of the beach is the wood expanding and contracting almost daily, the nails almost come to life and pop out all the time. The sand shifting does not help with the maintenance. I hope to see you again soon.

Thank you so much for your kind review, you have no idea how much this really means to owners. The crows nest was damaged during of the storm and I did not have the funds to repair it nor the time before spring/summer rentals. We are looking into how to repair the crows nest and make it safe again for guests. Please come check out the house next time you visit, I hope that you will appreciate all of our upgrades.

Thank you for your review and for enjoying my home. The windows are "boarded" because the original contractor I hired did not do as I wished. The home can get VERY hot in the summer and we are closing the windows with faux "shutters" to help keep the house cool (and my power bill lower) in the next off season we hope close the windows up inside and insulate. We are having the exterior work prettied up this spring. I am happy you enjoyed yourself otherwise

SOOO happy to have you return and I am adding little touches as time goes by. As for check - in. I ask for contact with management out of paranoia of under age kids using their parents account or a fake account and getting access to the house and getting hurt. I recently had to bolt the picnic tables on the top deck down due to teens using them to climb to the crows nest, oh be still my parent/ liability insurance heart! We are working on upgrades and one will be the stairs that we inherited with the house. FIRST insulating the walls and windows, then kitchen, bathrooms and stairs. Check us out again next year if you can!

thanks so much for the response: I am the owner and do take pride in my home. When I am made aware that there is a problem with one of the houses we make the repair as quickly as possible. I was told this morning that the blower in the AC was not functioning so this morning (5/12) I gave the approval for the repair. There is a unit in each room as well as a unit in the large room that can be used. If the sliding door is off the track that is a repair for the management to know about. The windows were broken during a storm and I was told they were repaired or the parts are being ordered. The spider on the shower curtain, I have spoken with mother nature and she has sent a promise to keep all bug away for 2016, she has made this promise before so I am not sure what to say. When you stay at a home chances are the owner has not been to the property in many, many months and is going by what the management says. There are also a great number of guests that use and abuse all of the belongings and break every piece of furniture as well as belongings inside the home. As for the kitchen and lack of "dishwater" not sure how to fix this problem. I hope you have better luck with another home in the future. I love my house and work very hard to give an affordable place for people to enjoy the island. It is very hard work owning one of these houses, especially hard when people bash your pride and joy- have a great vacation, I know I would love to be able to get to the beach. Cheers- (remember there are actual people on the other side of your ugly words on the internet) As for the back gate, it is locked because guests do not close it and it is a liability, the ice maker is not tapped to a water supply because it is also a liability. You will need to buy a bag of ice from the vendor there on the island, I do it when I am there I believe the cost is $2.00 You reported the A/C being out between 8-9pm and it was repaired the very next day. The back lock was explained at time of check in.

Traveller: I explained the first time you messaged that the home had sustained storm damage and it was necessary to replace the fence. I also explained it was not the first time I had replaced this stretch of fence and I had to take the advice of the fence builder and put a fence that could handle wind. As for the nail: At no time in the last 5 years have we had any siding repair done, therefore there are no siding nails. You and your family did go into a secluded area and move fence panels so that you could "rig" the fence, you wanted this done so you could leave your small dog unattended in the yard while you were away. I had to pay someone to put the boards back into the location I had them stored after you left. You also rearranged all of my furniture which was unappreciated. The 6th message in as many as 24 hours about the fence and your displeasure is when you encountered my stern “this is the end of this conversation”. I also offered to reimburse your remaining days so you could find somewhere else if you were truly that unhappy, that is not the option you took. The check in would have been easily handled if you had taken the advice I gave you at 8:28am on the day of your arrival, I know it was received as a result of your "sounds good, thank you" at 8:38am. QUOTE: "I would certainly give a call to the office to see if the house is ready earlier than the allotted time. 1-800-341-2021. peak season has passed so we may be running faster" The rest of your complaints are “null” and just filler to justify your 2 star review, you also informed me: QUOTE: "Understood. Thank you but that's not really an option at this point. That's fine, no further discussion needed, but I will be a pretty dissatisfied customer without some sort of refund." Your real concern was not being able to leave your dog unattended in the backyard while you went to the beach and other places. My pool girl called with much concern when she saw the pup in the back alone. I do not give refunds because someone is not able to leave an unattended small dog out in the Florida sun to romp around the yard filled with sandspurs. The home is no longer pet friendly.

Future guests: this review is not accurate and is actually the result of someone that got their feelings hurt because I would not refund them their money. The traveler was actually not supposed to be in the house as a result of the storm damage but refused to leave. I had made other accommodations in a different home and had canceled his reservation so I could attempt to make the repair needed as a result of the storm. Eric and family would not leave my home and were essentially squatting. He became upset because I charged him for the nights he was there. The toilet was fine, the drip from the storm was new and has since been repaired, the shower handles are fine, the kitchen sink is fine. The door is being replaced, trying to contract that currently. If you read the review and have any questions please reach out. The truth is, Eric felt I should have coward to his bullying ways and got upset when I did not. .
