Great stay but had issues

The place was clean and easy access to the beach. My reason for two stars is the hot tub was not working and we were not informed about it. The dishwasher also was broken and while they said someone would come and fix it no one showed up.

Great Family Beach House

Plenty of space, location to the beach was excellent (short walk across the street and over the dune and bam...beach), clean and fully stocked kitchen with dishes, cookware, etc for us to use to cook our own meals. The only negative I can report is that this year, the central air was not as strong and the bottom level was not as cool by comparison to the upstairs (which had window a/c units). Overall, this beach house fit our needs and is home away from home for us! Love it and OBX!

Great location, not as great condition

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second year to stay at a beach ball. We love the Crownpoint circle development. This house is very close to the beach access making it incredibly convenient! However, there are a few drawbacks. Home is in desperate need of updates. The flooring is very dirty. Kitchen counters and table have been painted and the paint easily wipes off. There is an odd two-tone shelf in the kitchen area that looks like someone ran out of paint halfway through touching it up. Some of the living room furniture had holes in it and has not been updated in a long time. We also had a leak this year from the second floor bathroom to a first floor bathroom. The maintenance team was very quick to handle the problem. We had some problems last year as well, including air conditioning that did not work at the start of our vacation. They did bring us window units and fans. They are very responsive to issues in the house. This will be our last visit to this location, though. We are looking for some nicer digs next year!

There is some wear and tear since it appears to be an older home. We really appreciate any home owner that is willing to allow dogs. The kitchen would need a second dishwasher if you really had enough people to fill all the bedrooms. We would definitely stay here again.

Great house, unsatisfactory property management

The house was great for our family vacation. It was a short walk to the beach and the community pool, and Food Lion is only 3 minutes away. The house itself was very comfortable and just as described. However, upon our arrival it appeared the house had not been cleaned, despite a text in the afternoon to let us know it was ready. (I realize everyone seems to be short-staffed.) There was a big pile of dirty linens in the front bedroom. The linen service had left clean linens, but we were missing sheets for 5 beds, which didn’t get delivered until the next day. The after-hours number was just an answering service, so they resolved nothing. Someone from housekeeping came the next day to clean the house, but they had to work around all our stuff. The dirty linens didn’t get picked up from outside until Wednesday. I asked for a refund for the condition of the house, but the amount I was refunded was not satisfactory. I have never written a negative review, but I have also never rented a house that was filthy and paid for linens that were insufficient.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the experience was very nice. The house and amenities were adequate for our purposes, and the guests and we had a very comfortable stay. There were only a few minor items that detracted from the experience. First, the bottom bathroom (the one with only a toilet and sink)had a clogged toilet when we arrived. Second, the 3rd floor refrigerator is not tips to the right, causing the refrigerator door to slam into the wall if you don't catch it and ease it to rest on the wall...we eventually bought a foam pool noodle, cut it up, and jammed it between the door and the wall to keep it from slamming against it (we took them down when we left). Finally, clothes in the dryer did not dry as the dryer vent pipe was completely clogged with lint. Like I said, these are relatively minor complaints, as the overall experience was good.

Great location and plenty of room to spread out!

Just returned today from a two week stay! A Beach Ball was in the perfect location for our family. Directly across from beach access made trips to and from the beach a breeze. For those who struggle with stairs, the beach access is quite steep and there are lots of steps. My mother traveled with us and has recently had a knee replacement. She took her time and did not have any issues with the stairs. But, I can see how it could be challenging for some. The beach home was not fancy, but we really did not need fancy! We had everythiing we needed and then some. The king rooms were spacious and it was lovely having a soaking tub in all of the master suites. Kitchen was well stocked which made cooking a meal simple. Only feedback I would add was that the condition of the rental was not in the best shape when we arrived. I have traveled to OBX for years and often this is an issue. I took it upon myself to clean the comforters (they were a bit sandy) wipe down all of the surfaces. We ordered linens rather than bringing our own. Unfortunately the second set (for week 2) did not arrive until two days before our departure. Not a huge deal, but would have been nice to receive them earlier. Overall, a great trip and lots of memories were made. Convenient walk/bike ride to two grocery stores and shopping areas. Quiet, well-kept neighborhood. Would highly recommend this rental if you are more focused on family than frills ;)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved this home. Very clean. Mattresses were so comfortable with soft toppers. Grill was rusted when we arrived with no propane and when we reported it was immediately replaced with a brand new grill and propane along with replacing a screen door that was ripped. Great ocean views & comfy furniture. We will be renting this home again next year! We had a blast! Thank you so much!

Fall Get Away

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The room with twin beds had dirty sheets.Beer cans left outside the 2nd floor master.Freezer door does not stay shut.Beds very uncomfortable. We did like the proximity to the ocean. The screened in porch was very nice.Not enough deck seating. We stay at the blue moon residence and think it is taken care of better.

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, close to the beach! Lots of parking. The house could use updating like garbage disposal, kitchen counters, kitchen utensils, some of the furniture/beds were uncomfortable. The extra twin room was hot with no ceiling fan so was unusable.

Not fancy, great space and location

We enjoyed how close we were to the beach, and the views from the house. There’s a lot of space in this home! So the things that mattered were excellent! The house was cleaned in the bathrooms, tables, floors. However, bring sheets, I found hairs all over the flat sheet in our room. The house has damaged (hole in the wall, loud toilet, blinds on the floor). But when I reported it, so I wouldn’t be responsible, customer service responded immediately and offered to fix things right away. I didn’t care about that stuff, and was happy they responded the way they did. Awesome trip, would recommend!

Nice beach house for large family

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was pretty nice overall. The property definitely held our group of 16 comfortably. The location is right across the street from the beach! Plenty of local places to shop without having to travel to the south part of the banks. I was hoping the cleanliness would have been better with it being during uncertain virus times, but it wasn’t what i would say unclean. We wiped it down and cleaned the areas that were not up to par and enjoyed our stay. Overall i would recommend the property if you have a large group.
