The home has been recently re-furnished and updated, including the addition of original oil paintings and art by various Methow area artists through out the cabin. Both bedrooms include Garnet Hill luxury 100% cotton or linen bedding, hypo-allergenic faux down pillows, and Pendleton wool blankets.



Liberty Woodlands

Situated in the Liberty Woodlands community in Mazama, you'll enjoy seclusion and accessibility. Nestled below Lucky Jim Bluff and just off Highway 20, the cabin offers trail access while being just a short drive to both charming Winthrop and Mazama village with its local store, pub, and additional trailheads.

The Methow Valley offers year-round outdoor recreation, from summer hiking and biking to world-class Nordic skiing in winter, all accessible from this peaceful woodland setting.

The Neighborhood:

MAZAMA

The Liberty Woodlands community is located 3.5 miles from the Mazama Store and the Methow Trails trailhead (for access to hiking, mountain biking, cross-country ski and snow-shoe trails). In addition to the store with its renowned bakery and groceries, Mazama is home to the Goat’s Beard outdoor store (with mountain bike and fat bike rentals), the Mazama Ski School for cross country ski lessons and rentals, and the popular Mazama Public House for local brews, food and music.



From winter 2025/26 we are expecting a new groomed nordic ski trail connecting Liberty Woodlands to Timberline Meadows and the John's Way Trail, providing a connection to Mazama and the Upper Valley trail system. This new trail will pass a few yards from the cabin making this a ski-in ski-out property. The lower valley trails can be accessed from the trailhead at Brown's Farm 2 miles down the road (a future trail is also planned to connect direct from Liberty Woodlands).



NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK

Forest Meadow Cabin is also conveniently situated for easy access to the North Cascades and the trailheads to many of the Park's world-class hiking trails. It’s under a 25-minute drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 30 minutes to Washington Pass and 35 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead.



WINTHROP The cabin is also just 10 miles down the road from the old west town of Winthrop, with it’s popular shopping and art galleries, the Shafer Museum (lots of local history), bakeries and dining establishments. The Winthrop Rink boasts one of North America’s only NHL-sized outdoor rinks, hosting ice-related activities for the entire family in winter, and active sport and pickleball courts in the summer months. Winthrop’s annual calendar of events includes the Rhythm and Blues Festival, Vintage Car Rally, Memorial and Labor Day Rodeos, and Christmas At The End Of The Road (check the town’s website for details).



Getting Around:

Getting Here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass, also known as the scenic “American Alps” (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combined, these routes make up the scenic Cascade Loop. The nearest major airports are Spokane International Airport at 180 miles (year round) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (190 miles in summer / 260 miles in winter). Regional flights are also available at Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee, located 102 miles away.



Getting Around: The Mazama Store is 3.5 miles / 6 minute drive Winthrop is 10 miles / 15 minutes drive. Okanogan County Transit Authority’s Trango service provides Mon – Sat transportation to/from Twisp to Mazama from roughly 7AM to 7PM.

The cabin has a portable AC unit set up in the living room during summer months, the bedrooms each have fans.

Forest Meadow Cabin has high speed starlink internet.



NO PETS

This is a strictly no-pets property.



SECURITY DEPOSIT

This property requires a $500 security deposit. Please review our complete house rules and terms for details. Smoking and unauthorized fires are prohibited. Unauthorized pets and smoking violations will result in substantial additional charges.



PRICING

Please note that the nightly rental rate varies with seasons and weekdays, please enter your actual dates for an accurate quote.



POOL USE

Guests of our cabin may use The Inn at Mazama outdoor pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and tennis/pickleball court located at 15 Country Road in Mazama. The cost to use the pool is $10/guest/day and you should check in at the front desk before heading to the pool. The Inn also has private offices available to rent by the day in case you need space to work during your stay.
