Dear Valued Renter -- thank you for your review and for staying with Dutch Rentals again. We appreciate your business and your kind words about this property. We are so sorry about the couple problems you encountered. Our door lock code system is very popular and usually works perfectly, but as you know, we moved you to a unit with a hot tub, and sorry your code was mistakenly put in at the original unit you'd reserved. We won't let that happen again. Bath towels -- we always leave one per person, but we are always glad to deliver more if you need them. Don't hesitate to email or call in the future and we will bring more over to you. There are a lot in the closets there, as well. We haven't heard complaints about the firewood. Did you use kindling and paper? Again, please call in the future and we will be glad to assist you. Very sorry you saw some mouse droppings! We will immediately attend to that. They were probably old, but you are 100% right, that drawer should have been cleaned better. In Vermont, the mice do get in almost every home, but we usually do a good job getting rid of them immediately. We hope to have you back here or another Dutch Rentals Vermont property soon. We are so fortunate here at Dutch Rentals that 99% of our guests are respectful, kind, and take great care of the people's homes which we rent. I am sorry I cannot say the same for this guest. He had the bad fortune of the hot tub thermostat failing during his stay. It had been cleaned that week and was running fine. I am not sure what happened, but we sent someone there at night to help them. Could not get it fixed for him, so I reimbursed him for that and apologized. Unfortunately, this guest was extremely rude and abrasive on the phone and in person when we went there to help him. We noticed when we got there that the place was a mess and everyone was drinking heavily. They lost the remote to the TV and the DVD players. No idea where those are. And worst of all, they left the place a terrible mess when they departed: food all over the place, garbage on every counter and table, a garbage can brimming over, set on a kitchen chair. I have photographs of the disaster they left the place in. This townhouse is not old or run down in any way. It is a beautiful place (or will be again after we clean up the damage from these past guests!) Future guests, please call us to discuss any concerns you might have. We aim to please.

These very minor issues were fixed immediately, some on Christmas day during guest's stay. Thank you for the feedback. The lighting issue had to do with a simple GFI switch. The light is working fine now. The other 2 issues were extremely trivial (one drawer in the kitchen containing owner's items that guests don't even need to use, and a dresser drawer that stuck). This is a lovely property in great shape in a terrific, peaceful location. Future guests, please do not let this review put you off. We took extremely good care of this renter, as the review states.
