Our above-ground pool is shared between units, is open year-round, and is not heated. Inquire if you have questions.

The studio apartment is a tastefully converted and fully finished former garage, and is furnished with a small kitchenette with microwave and kitchen essentials, a queen bed, and two pull out sofa beds. There is also a large walk-in spa-style shower. Guests have access to the outside spaces that may be shared with guests who are renting out Side A. The entire home is available for rental as well.

NOTE: we have weekly maintenance and cleaning performed on our pool. The pool services do not take long and will not disrupt your stay. We will need access to the yard/pool area if you stay with us on service day. Thanks for understanding!

Near Thunderbolt Marine

The number one great thing for me was the location, near the Thunderbolt Marine Shipyard. It is a good spot for one person and maybe a couple. There is also a pull out couch. The pictures were accurate. Great value for the area.

Pictures do not capture that this must be a converted garage to a one-room in-law suite. I could hear everything as if the neighbors were in my room.The connecting door WAS NOT LOCKED on my side. Furnishings were in poor condition, couches were stained. Throw blanket/pillows were old (smelled). No stove. Found a two burner hot plate in a drawer. No dishwasher. Cheap flatware and very few utensils. No full set of cookware. Single serving air fryer and micro-coffee machine. The kitchen was dirty. Mattress was hard and thin. Bedding was old and uncomfortable. There was no thermostat for central air, but there was an air conditioning unit in a window. There’s a “shared” backyard with no direct access from the unit. Yard was not well maintained and the outdoor furniture is dilapidated.The window unit air conditioner flipped the breaker. After the third time flipping it, I gave up trying to use it. Room was stuffy, and it was FEBRUARY.Owner was communicative and responsive. Location was okay. To check out one hour later, 35. Shameful.Disappointed for the price.

When we arrived everything was ok except for the pool was brown green. I called it in and they sent a guy out to work on it. Still green. Then on July 1 came we came back from the beach and was locked at. The property had been bought out by a new owner. Another pool guy was there Called new company and after 2 hrs got us in room. The door knob into the bathroom was barely hanging on. I took a knife and fixed it. The day before we left the pool water was clear however a lot at of sand and some leaves were on the bottom on the pool. I feel the pool should’ve been vacuumed. This was advertised as a usable part of the property. I feel I use be compensated 300 for false advertisement and then still not able to use the pool after “worked on “.

Green pool

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience with this property. We were informed the day before our stay that the pool needed to be cleaned after a storm came through and it wouldn't be usable the first couple days of our stay. Though this was a bummer, it was understandable. When we arrived, the pool was green and had algae growing in it. When a couple of days had gone by with no update and no maintenance performed on the pool, I inquired about it, and was informed that the pool's motor was broken and it wouldn't be fixed during our stay. The pool was the number one reason that we booked the property. It was apparent that the pool had not been properly maintained for some time prior to our arrival. I was very disappointed with how this was handled and it had a very negative impact on our trip and experience.

Overall this was a nice enough place to stay. We were unsatisfied with the miscommunication before booking and the detail spots of uncleanliness we saw upon check in.The apartment was spacious, as it was just the 2 of us. Ample room to relax, although the bed was a little uncomfortable after sleeping on it several nights.The main reason we chose this property was for the pool. We asked if the pool was open *before* booking, and we were told "yes the pool is open". Then after arriving and noticing the pool only became more green during our stay, we contacted the host and were told the pool was closed indefinitely.(We did get a small refund for this, but we would have rather know before booking as it was not worth it, in my opinion)While overall the property was clean, we did notice detail areas were quite grimy and had not been cleaned in a long time. Such as the rim of the washer, the baseboard areas, and the air filter near the bathroom/main bed. (I did let the host know about the filter and they offered to fix it during our stay)This is a duplex type of property and the wall separating the 2 sides is thin. We heard our neighbors the entire time they were staying next door. Something you may want to consider if that sort of thing bothers you.I will say that the location was great because everything we wanted to do was 15-20 mins from the property. I would just be weary of booking if you are looking to use the pool or are sensitive to noisy neighbors.
