We enjoyed our stay very much. The proximity to the beach is a huge plus. It's just a short jaunt up and over a small dune. The house is well equipped with all the cooking accessories needed. We especially enjoyed the screened in back porch and ate almost all of our meals out there. Terry was communicative and helpful. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Absolutely wonderful. Great location, just a walk over the dune to get to the beach. Pool is a two minute bike ride away and is a nice option. Very close to everything else around there. House has plenty of room, and is well stocked with anything you might need. Also like that there are little notes on light switches and around other commonly used things to give you information and directions.

As repeat customers, this home always provides us fun, plenty of space, all things needed to cook & grill, movie night with the kids, pool games with the adults, a beautiful yard for cornhole & football & baseball throwing! Highly recommend this beach house. It was everything that was advertised. Primary perk for us was finding out it was walkable to stores and eating places. This was very helpful considering we had teenagers that don’t drive yet. Besides that, we loved everything else that the other reviews spoke about. Our typical day involved the short walk to the beach and then when we were done there, we would come back and use the outside shower and then get in the hot tub. The game room was really handy so we could spread out and the kitchen was definitely well stocked. Home owners were very accessible and responsive. Definitely would stay here again.

Great beach house and location

Location of the house is fantastic. My family with two young children had no problem getting to the beach. The beach access by the house is private to the neighborhood so the beach area is relatively calm and less people than busy public access areas. House had everything stocked that was needed and no issues. Would book again!

Perfect!

This trip (as a repeat customer) was to bring my teenage boys and a few of their friends down for a week to kick off summer before they start their summer jobs. The weather was perfect and the house offers a beautiful yard for outdoor games and a hot tub to relax in and listen to music. The upstairs game room was filled with lots of fun with the pool table and outdoor deck overlooking the ocean.

I can't say enough good things about this beach house!The location was close to Jockeys Ridge, shopping, grocery stores, and restaurants. The beach is right there and its great to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The house is tastefully decorated with flair. The owners have thoughtfully stocked pans, plates, and servingware. The house was immaculately clean and it was easy to feel at home in this house. I hope to come back!

A week by the ocean

This house was the perfect home away from home for the week. Location is perfect with everything you could need within walking and driving distance. The home itself is spacious with plenty of room for larger groups to spread out. Everything you need in the home to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The game room was a huge hit! The upstairs balcony was perfect for a sunrise coffee. We loved the outdoor space, the hot tub. It was all perfect. Would highly recommend and book again!

something for everyone in the Outer Banks

I booked this place for a family group spanning three generations, and we all really loved it; it had plenty of room for everyone and was well stocked and centrally located in OBX. We also found the owners to be super friendly.

Clean Accommodations, Great Location

We stayed here for a week in April. We found the Shore Shack clean and tidy. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. The upper level was great for our kids who enjoyed everything it offered. It is in the perfect location, steps from the beach, short drive to shopping and restaurants, and centrally located to all that is OBX. We highly recommend the Shore Shack!

Perfect place

Right in the middle of everything OBX has to offer. Fully stocked kitchen (equipment wise) which is unusual and very much appreciated as we cooked in a lot. We had great times playing pool and the two chairs by door upstairs are perfectly positioned to watch the morning sunrise

Great as always

This is a great property. We have a family of 7 and it's a great size. A couple minutes to walk to the beach. And you can jump in the hot tub (after washing the sand off!) when you come back. Nicely located by a Food Lion. We always have a fantastic time staying at this house!

Excellent Property and Hostess

My family and I had a wonderful vacation staying at the Shore Shack! The Hosts have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, and the location is perfect! You can listen to the ocean waves from the screened in porch and upper deck, relax in the hot tub, or in the hammock and swing under the deck! The outside shower and storage closet were very convenient as well as several foot rinse stations to keep sand out of the house.We also had access to the nearby Beach Club, which came in handy on the day of our arrival. Terry was quick to response to any questions, and left a handy guide book for us to use. The house is well laid out for our group of 6 people, with great views and plenty of activities! We highly recommend this home for your vacation in Nags Head.

First OBX vacay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house! For our first trip to OBX, it was more than adequate. We aren’t used to climbing dunes to get to the beach, but we ended up with stronger leg muscles lol. The house is more than stocked with every little item you could possibly need and then some! The owners are on top of any problem and very good at communicating! Our family was 10 and sometimes it was a tad small in the kitchen/dining area, but we made it work just fine. One trick is to keep the ice trays filled and you’ll be fine without having to buy ice everyday.

Fun for all ages!

As a repeat customer, this home never disappoints. It has beach character for sure. Rain or shine - there is enough room and space for all ages to hang out, play games, play pool, watch a movie or take a dip in the hot tub after playing outdoor games in the nicely manicured yard! The kitchen is equipped with plenty of items and utensils you need to make a meal. The owner is very responsive and friendly. Beach access is super easy over the dune. We plan to book again!

Loved our week at Shore Shack! The location is perfect
we could bike to some of our favorite spots (Cookies and Cream
.yum!!), and the beach was uncrowded and delightful, with a lifeguard stand nearby. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare and serve delicious feasts, and we loved the screened porch and top deck. The 2nd floor was a hit with the teens and all of us
love the pool table and the bar! Hot tub was super clean and the fact that it was covered made it a great way to spend a rainy day. Terry is such a kind and thoughtful host and it is obvious that she is invested in ensuring a great stay for all guests!

Family vacation 2024

Everything was just as the listing shared, if not better. The location was perfect! The ocean breeze made sitting out on the deck so peaceful and relaxing. The outdoor shower was a big hit-so much so that we’re adding one at home! The community pool was a bit crowded, but we were there during a holiday and the pool team shared its the busiest week of the year. We loved this spot and highly recommend! Thanks to the owners also for sending a forgotten toiletry bag-above and beyond!

Enjoyable Stay in Nags Head

My family and I haven’t been to Nags Head for years, but we had a fun stay at the Shore Shack. We liked that there were many spaces for all of us to hang out. The screened porch was great in the evening and during a few rainy times. There were plenty of supplies and the kitchen is well stocked. It was always cool in the house, but fans would be an appreciated addition in the king and queen bedrooms. We utilized the grassy area to play many games that were supplied. There’s also a refrigerator on every level. Our family had a great time on the beach very near the house with no roads to cross. There is a dune you must walk up to get there. The use of the community pool was also a wonderful amenity with this rental. We met the friendly owner upon our arrival and she was responsive with communication.
