Rural and charming 2-bedroom cottage near H-SC and Longwood

NEW ONLINE LISTING: Owned by Hampden-Sydney College, there are five Cottages at The Manor Golf Course. With spacious verandas overlooking beautiful views of the rolling hills of a 1,000 acre estate, the Cottages are just minutes away from Longwood University, Hampden-Sydney College, and the town of Farmville.

Located in the historic heart of Prince Edward County in south central Virginia, The Cottages are just an hour's drive or less from Charlottesville, Richmond and Lynchburg.

Each cottage rents separately and is made up of two suites. One suite includes living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bath, and the other suite includes a kitchenette, bedroom and bath.

A two-night minimum is required and a fourteen-night maximum is enforced. Currently accepting reservations thru December 31, 2025. Our turn-days are Monday – Friday, we do not turn units on Saturday or Sunday.

Exterior security camera on property. Furniture and bedding updates occurring in Summer 2025, with improvements to continue into Summer 2026.

We welcome guests traveling with one animal companion in Cottages 102, 104, and 106 with prior disclosure.

However, animals are strictly prohibited in Cottages 100 A, 100 B, and 108, even as visitors, to ensure a selection of allergen-friendly spaces for sensitive guests.

We do not differentiate between service animals and companion animals, as we take extensive measures to clean after any animal stay. Our goal is to provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for all guests. To avoid excessive fees, we rely on the honor system. Please review the Requirements Before Arrival below. Upon your email alerting us to your animal guest, an agreement letter will be sent with signature required.

Requirements Before Arrival
Disclosure Required: Guests must notify us in writing at cottagerental@hsc.edu no fewer than 5 business days prior to arrival if they are bringing an animal. Disclosure must include basic information about the animal to include type and weight.

Single Animal Limit: Only one animal per reservation is allowed. No exceptions.

Signature of agreement to Animal Guest Policy must be received, by email to cottagerental@hsc.edu, no fewer than 5 business days prior to arrival or your reservation will be cancelled and any monies exchanged will not be returned.

Failure to Disclose: Undisclosed animal occupancy may result in:
• Immediate removal of guest(s) and animal from the property.
• Forfeiture of the damage deposit.
• Damage claim filed with VRBO, as needed

During Your Stay
Furniture Covers: Provided covers must remain in place during your stay.

Cleaning Responsibilities: Guests must clean up all traces of their animal, including:
• Hair, fur, dander
• Food and saliva
• Urine and feces

Air Purifier: Must remain ON at all times during animal occupancy.

Leash Rule: Animals must be leashed while outdoors. Our rural setting includes wildlife such as coyotes, bears, and birds of prey.

Clean up: Owners must pick up animal waste.

Weight Limit: Animal must weigh 75 lbs. or less. Non-compliance may result in removal and additional charges.
