Melissa and her son were lovely guests. Like many of my guests, parents love to stay at my Brownstone when bringing their kids to college, for visits, and graduations.

Curtis, Thank you for staying at my Back Bay brownstone during Marathon week, and for noting the location, walkability, rideshare convenience, and communication. I’m glad those parts of the stay worked well for you. I’m sorry that other aspects did not meet your expectations. This is my personal residence, which I make available selectively. While many guests enjoy the character and warmth of staying in a real Back Bay home, I understand that it can feel different from a more traditional vacation rental. Back Bay is a coveted central-city location, and with that can come urban noise — especially during major-event weeks and early-morning service activity. I also appreciate your comments on the sleeping arrangements and comfort, and I’ll review the listing language to ensure future guests have the clearest possible expectations. Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased you had an enjoyable stay and explored Boston. If only it had been a bit warmer. With regard to a couple of downsides you mentioned: 1) Heat: I urge guests to contact me with any questions or issues at any time (e.g., heat) as they are easily and quickly remedied. 2) Bathrooms: There are actually two bathrooms. Powder room upstairs and full bath downstairs, as noted in the description of the property. It takes more than one visit to explore Boston, I'd love the opportunity to once again host you in my brownstone condo if/when you return. Thank you!

Lawrence, I appreciate your taking the time to write a review. Rarely do I not get five stars, but you have alerted me on essential features that were lacking or incorrect. Thank you. I didn't think it said two bedrooms; at least the headline is 1 . If a safe was listed, that's dead wrong. If you come in a few months, my new sofa bed will have arrived. These corrections and enhancements will be made, including more drawers. Additionally, I am adding a discount for a week plus stays. Thanks again for your stay.

Katherine, I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay, your parents too. I greatly enjoyed meeting you on arrival. I always make a point of greeting condo guests when they arrive and be available by phone/text during their stay. On shades, I recently met with a designer to have some them made. It was not an issue until last fall when the 100-foot tree with Muir-woods-like-width in my patio came crashing down. It had provided a lot of shade, blocked light at night. I'll make a point of getting some eyeshades for visitors who sleep on the pull-out until the shades are installed. If you decide to do Boston again, I would be delighted to host you. Thank you for the nice review. The House Rules are being updated. A few things have changed since Covid, indeed some nice features to add.

I respectfully thank my recent guests for their comments. I will also note that I have had many happy guests from all over the world who rated their stays and the accommodations excellent. Yes, it is my home most of the time, but with demand, I rent it half-dozen times a year to people who appreciate it. So yes you will see some family pictures. It's not a hotel. However, some of the comments are valid due to an unforeseen incident with the the tree that fell the day before their arrival. It had provided privacy and shade. On heat, It was a tremendously unseasonable heat and humidity the first few days the guests were there. It turned quite nice the day they left so there was little reason to leave at that point. Further comments below. So with all due respect, I submit the following comments: 1) Privacy The day before these guests arrived the enormous tree in my patio that provided shade and privacy fell. It was 100 years old, 80 feet high. As I mentioned to the guests, that as a result I will be adding shutters to the upper portion of the 15-foot bay windows, a more powerful A/C and tall plants in front of the windows. A Home Away rental in the front would be more expensive. 2) Heat It was a tremendously unseasonable heat and humidity the first few days the guests were there. It turned quite nice the day they left so there was little reason to leave at that point. 3) Bed: The listing very accurately states that the bed is full-sized. 4) Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, dishes and utensils. The pan left in the oven is my oversight. 5) Master bedroom sink: yes porcelain cracked and need to be fixed 6) Shower is fine, regularly cleaned, no mildew. I change the inside shower curtain as needed.
