Das gesamte Haus ist wunderschön Zeder, innen und außen mit einem neuen, frischen Look, auf einem schönen ebenen Grundstück am Rande des Wassers angesiedelt. Dieser ruhige See lädt den ganzen Sommer über zum Entspannen ein. Das Wasser ist sauber, um zu schwimmen, Kanu zu fahren oder ein Aluminiumboot zu rudern. Am Duck Lake, einem Teil des Quellwassers eines 30 Meilen langen West Branch of the St., wird auf Barsch, Pickerel und weißen Barsch geangelt. Croix River Schuppen mit Binnenlachs im angrenzenden Junior Lake. Genießen Sie am Dock die malerische Aussicht auf die Bergketten Almanac, Getchell und Bowers. Seetaucher, Wasservögel und wild lebende Tiere gibt es zuhauf, und nachts schimmert eine Eule am Lagerfeuer. Draußen gibt es ein Wildblumenfeld mit Schmetterlingen, Kolibris und fliegenden Akrobaten. Sollten die Nächte kalt werden, gibt es einen großen Holzofen mit viel Holz vor Ort. Lass die Ratte hinter dir und lass die Heilung beginnen! Jetzt mit Blattspanner- und Jägerraten von Ende September bis Anfang November, bis der Schnee fliegt, die Rohre gefrieren und die Tränen zu Eiszapfen werden!

Overall excellent. House was well supplied, clean, and the host was very responsive. As stated in the description, prepare to be unplugged. There is no WiFi, internet, tv stations, or cell service of any kind. Very peaceful and very quiet. A nice change.

The stay was wonderful and the property was great. Spent a lot of time on the lake and the access was an easy walk down. The only issue we had was the well water. The water had an extremely pungent smell and not suitable for drinking. We did have the foresight to bring our own drinking water though so it didn't put a real damper on the weekend

Clean comfortable cabin in the woods.Water well smells like sulfur. Bring your own water for drinking. If you’re looking for seclusion and a chance to disconnect from the world, this is your place. Beautiful lake to explore from the canoe and row boat provided with rental . Definitely paddle into the streams that feed and pour out of the lake.I brought my own kayak which I fished from successfully. We cooked dinner using the charcoal grill and enjoyed the campfire pit. We bought bundles of wood on the way in not realizing there was a wood pile at the house. We will be returning for sure.

SCREEN SHOT THE DIRECTIONS AND CODE BEFORE TOU GET THERE. The host isn't kidding about no phone service. Be prepared for about 25min after you leave the pavement. After that the view is worth the drive! Incredibly peaceful and secluded! The beds were comfy and all you need is there (except we never found the boat paddles). The smell of moth balls and the sulfur water is really the only drawback. You get used to it after the 2nd day. Unfortunately, we didnt get to stay beyond that and we were all disappointed. The owner was super courteous and gracious about our situation and comped us back for it. I recommend this place as long as you want to get away from it all, and you should!

Amazing location and property, so peaceful and the lake is beautiful, so nice and warm to swim in. We loved the quiet and the serenity of the area and the no WiFi nor cell service was a blessing as we really got to connect.

Nice Lake vacation

The place is nice with a great lot not far from lake. Found that with only a picnic table to use a little hard as we are all older and we like to do puzzles and play games. The bedrooms were very nice.

A cabin so nice I had to visit twice

I stayed here with friends back in August and came back weeks later in September for a reason! I hope Tim and Patty don't mind if this becomes my go-to home away from home ;)

Lakeside Disconnect

The property and house were clean and secluded. The owner gave great directions and suggestions on where to eat in the area. The lake was great and the kids loved it!. There's so much natural beauty around there. The AC was a huge bonus as it was hot when we visited.

Beautiful setting

Nice camp in a very private setting. Lake was quiet & beautiful. We did not spend a lot of time there since we were having a 3 day family reunion in a neighboring town but did some kayaking & enjoyed morning coffee on the front deck each day. Camp was very musty but aired after a day.

Leave the stress behind

There were no wifi or cellphone service which I didn’t mind because my kids were busy outside and actually enjoying nature. The property and the view of the lake was amazing. Will definitely bring the family out there again. Also can I say how friendly everyone was.

There is no wifi for a reason. I wish for my guests to enjoy nature at its fullest, and those mountain views so pleasing to the eye, were formed by glaciers some 10 thousand years ago and are grandfathered into perpetuity.

Off the Grid

Nice quiet location. Definitely no cell phone service. We saw a bear, fox, eagles, deer and an otter. If it’s cool and damp, expect mosquitoes. If sunny and warm, didn’t have mosquitoes.

If you saw a bear you were lucky, fox are common, eagles are spectacular, deer are making a comeback, and with no cell phone service you came for what Anderson's Waterfront Cottage is all about. I am otter joyed!

Awesome

It was great. It was clean and had everything you would possibly need for a stay. I would highly recommend staying here. Mr. Anderson gave great directions to cabin making it easy to find. The location is awesome if you are looking for that peace and quiet away from it all vacation. Me and my Wife could not ask for a better stay. My wife is not an outdoors type of person but she still loved it so that says a lot. Would love to do it again someday in the future.

Quiet and remote

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It took a day or so to acclimate to the remoteness of the cabin, and the absence of wifi, cell service, etc. Please note that the owner is very clear that this is the case. It wasn't a surprise, but it still was an adjustment. To be honest, by day 2, we really appreciated not having the outside world intrude on the quiet of our holiday. We weren't lucky enough to see lots of wildlife, but we did see a gorgeous little fox a couple of times! All in all, a lovely getaway!

Drinking Water Problems

I found the property to be accurately depicted as listed in VRBO. However, VRBO did state that the water was from a well and was drinkable. I did not find that to be the case as the running water has a very strong Sulphur odor and taste to it. We needed to go out and purchase bottled water for drinking.

Peaceful, Private, and Perfect

Looking for a quaint, clean, cabin off the grid in the middle of the woods on a lake? This is the place! Cabin had everything we needed, comfortable beds, stocked kitchen with all of the cookware and dishware you would need, warm running water, electricity, had laundry if needed, and SO clean. Temperature was comfortable, there were ACs (though we didn't need them) and we did use the wood stove one cool rainy night. All firewood is provided. Definitely follow the directions Tim sends you and do not listen to your GPS. So peaceful and private, I'm already planning a return in the next few weeks :) Thank you, Tim and Patty!

Just what we were looking for!

Peaceful, quiet, away from it all!! Serenity of a lake, gentle breezes of evergreens, dark Fall skies illuminated by the moon, stars and planets! Outdoor fire pit! No internet! We brought our own chairs for seating around the campfire. We also picked up extra firewood ( and graciously left all the leftovers) Lighting in the cabin was dim, so be prepared. Beds are comfortable. Small tv (if that matters to you) . One couch and one rocking chair. Definitely not a vacation with a family movie night, again...if that matters to you. We didn't choose Maine to watch movies!

Not clean

The house was not clean at all when we entered. The beds were not made and the toilet was not clean as well. We got to know from the caretaker that she was not informed of our stay and that’s why the ppace was not clean at all.

Beautiful setting

The directions to the cabin from property manager were wonderful. The property is in need of some landscaping and major cleaning. It doesnt look like it is used very often, it was dirty, cobwebs everywhere and there is a mouse problem. The canoe has a hole in it as it was taking on water, the flat bottom boat didnt have a plug for us to be able to use it. I feel with a few upgrades with the yard work and a little better dock it would be great. Definitely no cell service which was fine as we knew that going into it, different furniture inside would be a plus also. Overall we enjoyed the few days there as we were visiting family so we weren't in the cabin all the time, but would definitely do some upgrades. Someone should really go up at least once a week an cut grass, open windows due to the very old musty smell and take pride in the diamond in the rough.

Beautiful Cabin inside and out

Loved the cabin, you can see the hard work Tim has put into it inside and out. The decorations were perfect, and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. One of the best things for us was to unplug, which was much needed for our family. There are neighbors but we did not see or hear them, the water was great for fishing and swimming. The row boat was nice to get around in. You have to follow Tim's directions though, the GPS tried to get us to turn into the woods. We loved the bird houses and the Adirondack chairs to set back and relax on the porch. The fire pit was huge, more like a bon fire size, and we brought our our little smoky grill which was a good thing. I loved all of the communication we had with Tim, he was great even gave us ideas where to go fishing and offered to arrange for someone to take my husband on a guide trip(maybe next time). He also wrote to us about the bird nests on the way up and the little ice cream stand to stop by. We really appreciated it since we had not been in this part of Maine before. We enjoyed the loons on the lake and even saw a bald eagle fly over. Thanks again Tim for sharing your cabin with us. The Brooks family

To the Brooks, thanks so much for the nice review. I enjoyed having you as guests and particularly appreciated the well thought out suggestions written on pen and paper. I'll take them to heart and continue to upgrade the experience guests have. I'm thrilled you saw the bald eagle, as I've had them fly overhead from the pines to right over the dock and consider them along with the breeding hooded merganser and tree swallows in spring as priceless bonuses. The loons had offspring this year and will talk back if you call them using variable intonations. The cabin location is remote yet comfortable, where you can still enjoy unspoiled scenic nature for your viewing pleasure. I hope you took in the owls and scraggly ravens, as those huge black magpies are squawky, yet compliment the mature hemlock forest. Lately, several broad-winged hawks have taken up local residence. Beautiful lot, but more info would've helped

The directions provided by the owner were very accurate and helpful. The lot was beautiful with a firepit and a very short walk to the dock, where clear water awaited. I did have some issues, though, which would've been mitigated with some additional information. There is running water but the smell of sulfur was overwhelming. It was not drinkable..bring lots of water. Showers are not really able to be taken as the smell makes your eyes water. Mice were an issue, BUT, it is a wood cabin. Keep all food secured and wash and store your dishes, as I was woken the first night by the ting ting of the mouse eating chicken alfredo from a rattling fork (while standing 2 inches from the "rodent control sound device"). That being said I moved a pillow in the couch and there was a large amount of mouse poop under there...indicating it wasnt cleaned or vacuumed. The code for the lock worked, but I the keys or the mechanism wouldnt allow the lock device to open to give me the keys. Luckily there was someone with tools down the road to assist. The lockbox for the keys wouldnt lock when I left. The canoe was unable to be used due to holes and the rowboat is too unwieldy and heavy for one person to get that out into the water, so one of the major reasons I booked the area, to fish using a canoe/boat, was unable to be realized. Overall, the place would've been better had the listing been a bit more forthcoming with the information presented BUT was a beatiful place.

Cabin is tucked away and is in a great location. Canoe and rowboat were great to use, fishing and setting was great. Cabin is as advertised. Appreciate the quick booking. Only downside - and I’m not complaining bc I understand the issue - the water was pretty rough w the sulfur, so be prepared. And no WiFi. But that was advertised. Overall, we loved it.

we really like it here the place is not close to others and we like the privacy and close to the lake one thing it could use is like fan or air in the upstairs bedroom other then that it was great

This property was finished by the owner and a few key experienced carpenters. This is my third cabin along the 45th parallel, where some of the finest "real" weather, and preserved natural beauty live. I posted our portrait, as when we trek north this allows us to go back to all that was once pure and virtuous. And for those naysayers, yes that's my wife, not my daughter!

Quiet, serene, beautiful, with occasional viewings of eagles, whereas loons are common place, there is a wild flower field in front with lots of butterfly and hummingbird activity, plenty of natures entertainment provided, and mosquitos are no extra charge. Gaze at the occasional Ravens squawk, hares, partridge, red squirrels darting, robins, chickadees and blue jays.

Show me another cabin made of 100% cedar and I'll eat your sombrero! Clean pure waters, scenic views of three mountain ranges, plenty of waterfowl, an occasional eagle sighting, resident loons, and owls hooting at night. 200 ft. waterfront means plenty of privacy, use of 13 foot aluminum boat or canoe.
